My favorite bagel sandwich here is the Villager, which comes with lox, egg and avocado. I get it on a salt bagel, untoasted. The lox adds this really delicious flavor, plus the egg and avocado. The salt is gentle, not overdone like the salt bagels from ARK Bagels down the road. My only complaint is that there's a bit too much bread - it does seem like my blood sugars spike if I eat it first thing in the morning.
The Cooper is similar to the Villager, but has tomato and capers instead of egg. I prefer the taste of the Villager, because I miss the egg when I have a Cooper, and the tomato doesn't do much for me, and I can't taste the capers, not really.
A simple egg and salt bagel is good too, but if I get that I prefer to have four eggs instead of the standard two.
My favorite pastime is getting a bagel to go and walking down the street, eating it as I go. It is a bit loud inside, with orders being shouted, lots of people talking, and loud music even when there's not many people there. There's often not enough seating. So I don't usually stay and sit, but that suits me fine, because walking and eating is half the...
Read moreBrooklyn Bagel and Coffee Company lives up to the hype and mystique of… Brooklyn bagels. (apologies, my creative spirit is not inhibiting my soul at the moment. I shall need to perform my ritual after this.) Like any good New York City bagel shop, they had a plethora of different bagel types, cream cheeses and sandwich combos. As a mere resident or the bagel deprived and more culturally homogenous state of Massachusetts, I probably am not a good judge of what makes a truly great bagel. I lack the distinguished palette of a bagel devouring New Yorker. I will say this. All of the bagels, no matter the style, had a perfect bite and dense texture. mine was filled with turkey slices, bacon, and a delicious jalapeño asiago cream cheese. The cream cheese had more kick than Ganondorf’s Down-B attack from the hit Nintendo game Super Smash Brothers. I felt as though there was a bit too much meat for my taste, but overall it was a well textured and well...
Read moreOn this NYC trip, we wanted to experience the famed NY bagels. We got to know about this place through a google search and the highly rated reviews were right. They have multiple locations in NYC; we went to the one in Chelsea. This is a small establishment but for bagel lovers, it has a huge selection of cream cheese spreads and bagels.
We ordered an onion bagel topped with egg and garlic and herb cheese spread on it. The other one we ordered was a sesame bagel with vegetable spread. Both the bagels were big with a nice crispy-chewy crust and the flavorful spread added to the taste. The vegetable one was especially very good. The iced and the hot latte were fine too.
This place has both indoor and outdoor seating but the seating was not enough for all the people in the store. We had to stand with our food before we could get a place to sit and eat.
We absolutely loved this bagel place and would recommend it to anyone...
