I really love this place and the ppl that make it tick. I love how involved they are with the community and it’s a great place to just sit and have some tea. They also have vegan cookies and at least one savory vegan option on their menu. Will list some of my favorite teas below •BLADDERWRACK is my #1, reminds me of fish tea (fish soup from 🇯🇲) and yes it’s salty. But it needs nothing else •CUCUMBER MELON GREEN smells amazing and it’s a good tea to take on vacay. Super hydrating which is good for hangovers •BURDOCK ROOT is very good for you. Tip I learned from some rastas: add a little pepper (cayenne is best) for a boost to your 420 high or a calm buzz to your regular day. Thank me later lol •BUTTERFLY PEA FLOWER is probably the one tea I cannot drink during the day. This is the perfect nighttime tea and is basically a superfood in tea form. •SUPERIOR GRADE MATCHA is truly an amazing blend. I love the latte there, but I def have this in the cupboard at home. Made it too strong the first time and had wayyyy to much energy, not to mention a speedy trip to the bathroom 🤣😅 •I recently took the HANGOVER HELPER with me on my trip and it’s amazing! It smells so good and has so much flavor. One thing I will say is I think it increases my appetite which is a good sign when your body is detoxing. Love this and will definitely buy again •almost forgot BETTER BODY OOLONG is my morning tea for busy days. Love how it carries me through the day feeling refreshed. They also have loyalty punch cards and maybe a digital loyalty program. One thing I miss from before covid is the tea samples. I really loved that. It put me on to so many teas including butterfly pea flower. Hope they bring it back now that we’re opening up. The pics are from over the years at brooklyn tea. I never got around to posting a review. Glad I still have them to share with you all ☺️

Since relocating to Brooklyn, it has been a passion to discover new businesses and startups that are created by founders of color, and I saw several posts in my Instagram feed about Brooklyn Tea, and positive feedback and decided to spend a Saturday afternoon there. From the warm amicable greeting from the owners to the vibrant and eclectic melanated patrons, the coffee shop was bustling with vibrant life and soul. I was whisked away to faraway lands as my olfactory senses were inundated with peculiar herbs and flower blends on the vast wall covered with tea samples -- my taste buds and curiosity were engaged with a tea sampling and mini-lecture on the origin of the tea of the day. My creative juices were flowing as the Japanese Sumi Ink flowed from my Niko-G Nib on a single note card which inscribed "Biggie" over and over again. The random passer-bys that sparked meaningful conversation as we enjoyed the energy in that space. I left feeling energized by the possibilities this tea spot will have in our community. I'm excited to see the growth and expansion that is inevitable for a place like this.

10/10 if Google would allow. Very informative and helpful staff. I knew it was a good sign when the owners knew the people walking in by name and even bigger sign was when some of the employees came in to grab something themselves even though they weren’t on the clock. Tea selection is great, if you’re into Tea or even need to stock your own pantry, you absolutely can’t go wrong. Vibe and product so good that it’s worth making a trip if you’re coming from somewhere not in crown heights/bed-stuy. Walked in and was helped immediately. Didn’t end up leaving for another few hours. Got stocked up on loose leaf, had a few delicious teas while there. If you’re hungry, can’t go with the Chicken Wrap. Delicious, and would not expect food to be that good at a tea shop but it is really good and better than full fledged restaurants. Sauce that comes on the side is also very delicious. Would totally get a bottle of that to have at home.

Lovely place, lovely vibe, great music.... but LOTS of problems here. -The server was distracted, not as attentive as he could have been. -The counter stools are cute, but uncomfortable. Too hard, too high, and too small. -Not enough indoor seating. One table and one loveseat. Cute but not well-placed. They should probably lose the loveseat because the place is too small. -By the time my daughter was finishing with her meal -- which she really enjoyed -- mine still had not come out. I asked about it and they said it was coming....but 10 minutes later, they said there was a problem with the oven, so -- no breakfast. They offered me a free pastry. I choose a warmed cheese Danish. It was just OK.

  • Most importantly: --There's a high platform dividing the small space, so you have to step up to get to the seating area -- but there is no colored safety strip alerting customers to watch the step, so I took a pretty bad tumble. The platform flooring is the same color as the rest of the floor, so it's not easy to see. I advised the woman at the counter, who witnessed my fall, that there should be a colored safety strip there. She didn't respond. The tea itself was great.... but not sure I'd go back here, as it...

Some of the most flavourful tea I’ve ever had. SUCH amazing quality loose leaf teas in the perfect spot and at a great price.

Ali and Jamila are such beautiful souls whose passion comes through the teas they curate daily for sampling, the wait time for your tea to steep before it’s transferred to you, and the presentation of their brand in the tea house itself. It’s also noteworthy that

They insist on serving teas sans-sweetner (although there is agave and honey available upon request) which I think is a reminder to return to healing ourselves from within. I think it’s also a good move for the elders in the neighborhood, who can get a quality bush tea for $3. And the space is quiet. It’s my new writing spot, a safe dally on Nostrand’s hubub; a stone’s throw from the AC trains. Safe and sound...a breathing room.

This is the only tea house in the area and will go far as they continue to establish themselves. They’ve aced the first hurdle though with phenomenal teas. My suggestion: make this your come-down refuge after a day at work, or an early morning meditation parlour before your day...
