My family and I went to Peaches on Friday 6/7/24 at 6:20 pm. The manager Mr. Scott was so condescending and unpleasant to talk to along with the receptionist in the front. I called on a Monday 6/3/24 at 4pm to get reservations. I was told by whom ever answer the phone that it was a walk-in. I remember coming to Peaches when it first opened because I use walk by the beautiful brownstone my whole life. The manager Mr. Scott told us that we needed to be there at 5 PM. The person that answered the phone did not tell me that and I had a party of ten people. We spent $600 and the manager couldn’t even ask us where we OK? We waited an hour for our food, but he went to the other people that was seated outside. The umbrella almost hit us on our head from the wind. We will never go back this restaurant on Lewis ave again and neither will my friends amd family. The food was good , the servers were wonderful. The manager Mr. Scott should not work in a diverse environment like Bed-Stuy if he don’t have to training to at least be pleasant and professional when customers are coming in. He kept asking me did I get a name because I was asking him. Why couldn’t the receptionist tell me that we should’ve been there 5pm? He actually spoke to me out opening in front of everyone that was dining. “If I didn’t get a name, there’s nothing that he could do!” We sat in the yard and the wind was so strong. I asked him to let us know when the table was available. He never came back to us, and the table in side was empty inside because when I went to the bathroom. The other group was gone. That’s not customer service for someone who have lived in this community for 53 years. This should never happen again he needs more training and more professional development. This is not how you should be treat customers when you spent $600 and is paying your salary. The waiters were wonderful!!! They are PEACHES! . Thank you Mr. Dove his co-worker who took over after he went on a break. They accommodated us by singing happy birthday when I told the manager that it was my brother‘s birthday. He didn’t even care but Mr. Dove and his coworker who took over made sure that his co-workers sung happy birthday to my brother. We came back to peaches to relax and be in a nice elegant environment. That’s not how we felt, when the manager spoke in a bellicose way. We felt discriminated against . He needs more training to work in a diverse community. He just didn’t care and we sat in the cold and windy yard. When he could have easily allowed us to come inside. I don’t want to feel like in 2024 we was judge by the color skin. But it seems that way because the other group of people who didn’t look like us was asked by Mr. Scott are they ok? He never came to our table again after he spoke loudly about getting a name for the seating policy. Everyone should be on the same page and that’s not what’s happening at Peaches on Lewis ave in Brooklyn. Thank you...
Read more2 Peaches locations done, both with great results.
The breakdown: This location is slightly larger than Peaches Hothouse a couple blocks from this area and twice as busy so there was a wait to order my food to get the attention of any of the waiters, but I have to say, the waitress that served me was very courteous when it was my time to order.
The place does have a bit of Southern aesthetic to it being dimly lit but you wouldn't entirely notice on the day I went because it was very sunny outside. Fortunately the food preparation didn't take as long as it did for any of the servers to notice me and I my order was brought to me in the most immaculate presentation possible, it was picturesque I didn't want to ruin it but I was hungry.
I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp Po'Boy with Fries. I thought it was a choice between fries or the side salad which happened to be coleslaw but I got both anyway. I don't care for coleslaw period so I didn't touch it. I started off on the fries, nice and tender to the touch with the right type of crisp, just like the other Peaches in Bed-Stuy. The Po'Boy was MASSIVE. They gave me a healthy serving of shrimp that I thought I'd have to dislocated my jaw to even bite into it but I managed, evenly so to the point that I was shocked I didn't make a mess of myself. That Po'Boy legit tasted like having it in New Orleans, just absolutely divine. Also had some Strawberry Lemonade with it which might have been a mocktail because it did have the aftertaste of one. The taste of itself as a whole was pretty good. The Tiger Woods I had from the other Peaches spot is slightly better but this Peaches didn't have my favorite half and half on the menu so it would have to do.
Of course the whole meal came up to $29 whilst giving a $4 tip as a job well done on service. All that's left is Peaches Prime and Grand. I'm already stoked to get there, after I can feel like I...
Read moreDining at Peaches is a must if you are a foodie and have a sophisticated palate like I do.
The Jim Cade Breakfast, which is served alllll day, is a must! It is so delicious. They make the best scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese that I have ever tasted in my life! (even better than my own).
Also, try the Cornmeal Encrusted Catfish with a side of their sautéed spinach. All I can say is, my goodness! 😋
Listen, here are all my favorites so far:
For dessert, or a light sophisticated snack: The Peaches "Melba" (granola encrusted French Toast with caramelized peaches and vanilla bean ice cream)... omg! 🙃
And also, you absolutely must order the Brooklyn Wings (is Brooklyn in the house? YESSSSSSS. lol). They are amazing!
And let me not leave out the Peaches famous Mac & cheese. Listen, mere words cannot describe just how perfect and mouth watering this Mac & cheese is. But please don't just take my word for it. You must try it for yourself.
Meanwhile, Peaches Brussel Sprouts are to die for! Do you hear me? They are to die for! I can eat them every day!
I also just recently fell in love with the salmon, which is served atop the most delicious and mouth-watering spinach, and it comes with a few artichokes, and they taste so good.
I can't leave this review without adding that all of Peaches staff are so nice, friendly, and welcoming. Let me add that the managers are just the most professional, nicest, accommodating managers ever.
I have never encountered a bad attitude here at Peaches and that speaks to Management. I appreciate that. Great job management! And thank you, Peaches staff.
Lastly, for those who want to know, Peaches drinks are super good! A shout out to my favorite bartender, Malcolm, 😉 who also plays the best music selections from all eras. The music played at Peaches is a whole vibe, all the...
