This review is about sustainability only! 🙂

By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. It is up to both consumers and businesses to stop this pollution at the source.

Plastics of course rarely actually get recycled, and instead break down into micro plastics that we consume (and get sick from), get burned in incinerators (that we then breathe in), get buried in landfills (that we have to defrost to create), or float off in the ocean (to countries not responsible for our trash).

While I appreciate that you were able to give me a reusable mug when I explicitly asked for it, it made me sad to see nearly every other person in the coffee shop drinking out of a throwaway plastic cup.

For a café with such lovely ambience, it’s a shame to muck it up with so much trash. I would bet that your customers would further appreciate the charm and aesthetic of this space if it didn’t come with so much plastic trash.

Perhaps you can have your baristas explicitly ask customers if they will be staying at the café to enjoy their drink, and then communicate that they will receive a reusable option. Or perhaps you can put up a sign that encourages customers to bring their own mug, or ask for one. Whatever you try, it would be amazing to try something.

Thank you for considering, and for such a lovely space. The plastics crisis is monumental, and it will take all of us...

The owner is attempting to deflect attention from my honest review by following his staff’s lead in bullying customers. In spite of his officious response, feeble efforts to quote the words of authors and open admittance of his pretentiousness: It is never OK to openly degrade people, neighbors, women or children. If you are looking for disdainful, ill informed service with your morning cup of Joe, you have found your spot. A staff member, who behaves as if he is running the cafe, yells at toddlers to close doors because they are "letting the a/c out". He snaps loudly as customers try reaching over coffee for stirring spoons. When you ask for a "financier" cookie, which Regular sells in their display case from Colson's bakery, you are bitterly told, "You mean the teddybear's? You are the only person who calls them that." Regular seems to attract the same daily crowd of persons on laptops sheepishly tip toeing around an easily enraged barista who does not have a basic comprehension of the products he is selling. We will never set foot in this cafe of...

It’s a cute little spot for sitting, not so much for working in a laptop. I don’t know how it’s still there, with it’s tiled floor and general old school air. They have a full coffee drink menu and make a proper flat white and macchiato. The prices are average to reasonable. You’ll almost miss it if you just look down Berkeley from 7th. Hey don’t skimp on the coffee. The staff are friendly but not overly so, not trying too hard but they know their coffee. They serve la Colombe coffee. Overall a good yelp find and I’d certainly recommend it. I didn’t notice food so I’d probably hit cousin john’s for that. There’s also not a ton of seating so you’d need...
