I finally found my favorite pizza place.
I am not a local in New York, so whenever I get the chance to visit, I make it a point to venture out into New York City and go to all the nice restaurants that I can see. I tried out Carnegie Pizza after looking at some of their reviews.
My review starts here.
I really like this pizza place. I showed up in the early morning. They were just opening up because they were still pulling out hot pizzas from the oven.
FOOD: The pizza was outstanding. The next time I fly across the world to New York, I'm making it a point to come here.
ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant was very clean and modern looking. I think "very new" would describe it well
EMPLOYEES: Good. Good service all round. I didn't experience anything bad.
2Cents: I think Carnegie Pizza is where I will take my friends and family to get pizza when we're in New York. Some other larger pizza chains that I won't mention here by name tend to be routinely overcrowded, and due to that reason, quality tends to suffer.
I'm going to explain my scoring system Excellent to Terrible
Excellent: I would fly across the world for these
(((( my score is somewhere here)))) I probably wouldn't book a ticket just to get a slice of carnegie pizza. But the next time I go to New York, this restaurant will definitely be on my top list
I recommend anyone give Carnegie pizza a try. Especially right when the pizza is out of the oven.
Very good: I would come here repeatedly
Good: a good pizza place in my top list
Above average: I would eat here if I was walking by
Average: average
Below average: I'd come here if I didn't have any other options
Bad: most likely would not come back here
Very bad: I would not come back here and would tell others to do the same
Terrible: I would bash this place on...

Went here just 15 minutes ago while waiting for our show and had the worst experience thus far in NYC. I’m a local turned tourist for this week and have been here on too many occasions to count. Was ordering slices for visiting family and asked for the buffalo slice . They were immediately rude , pointing to three pie options, speaking aggressively with a quick paced “your wasting our time tone” while I was the only person in line. They told me the buffalo slice was the spicy, even though there were sliced in other (untouched pies they didn’t want to grab from) that were made correctly and had clear buffalo sauce on it.
The buffalo slice was DISGUSTING. No flavor at all, you could taste fry chicken at best. When I went back in after my family has taken a couple horrendous bites , they looked at me once and told me that’s the spicy one I can not get another. I asked for the Chile slice and they were all barking at me saying it’s not spicy and what I have is what I want etc. I had decided it was not and that was it.
I was then barked at to approach th counter and pay for the Chile slice. Our original buffalo pizza slice was inedible.
Eugene was completely unprofessional and truthfully demeaning and we understand it’s the holidays but the behavior was completely uncalled for in a business setting. He told me absolutely no refunds , while I was just looking for an exchange. They all continued to bark that it was not spicy.
The littlest thing turned into a whole ordeal because the staff is rude, condescending, and truthfully should not be working with guests.
Disgusting food, morals, and experience.
Will never be back,...
Read moreI've been there twice with my mom, first in August of '21, second time April of '22. The first time my mom loved it, but I wasn't crazy about it (and pizza is my favorite food, so it wasn't just that I don't like pizza.) The second time hers fell to just OK, but mine was downright disgusting. She got a slice of veggie and a slice of ham and pineapple both times. I got NY style pepperoni the first time and switched to deep dish pepperoni the second time. The deep dish was so gross, I couldn't even eat half of it. The pepperoni and cheese both tasted fake (and my mom said she could tell the pepperoni was low quality just from the looks of it), the sauce was bad and the crust was a little burnt. Part of the slice was black - I don't know if that was the cheese, the sauce or what. And there was a piece of plastic on it. I have no idea where the plastic came from, it looked and felt like one of those clear plastic straps some women's shirts have to keep the shirt from falling off the hanger, because it was a little stretchy, but I don't know where it actually came from. It was baked into the cheese. To be fair, I didn't complain to the staff about it, because the taste of the pizza was so disgusting that I didn't want a replacement slice, so I didn't see the point. I had ordered garlic knots and just ate three of those for my lunch (they were OK but nothing special). My mom wondered if the restaurant had changed hands since the last time we came, since the quality had taken such a nose dive. We were also thinking that they had fountain drinks the first time, but this time they just had bottled drinks, which neither of us are crazy about. We definitely won't be...
