I think the only word to sum up my experience was racist.
And as I type thus I'm laughing because I still can't believe I experienced this or the fact that I stayed and got food and paid.
Ntl let me set the scene.
Today's my birthday and I was in time square, never went to Red Lobster so I said let me take myself to dinner.
I walk in there are two people in front of me talking to the host (I'm going to assume they were either picking up to go order or placing them), I stand behind them politely because I was raised with manners. Two white women walk in and the hostess immediately greets them and welcomes them and gives them the stub to take upstairs for dining in.
I then say to the host, I think that was bad customer service because not once have you acknowledged me, but two white women walk in you acknowledge them and then continue to ignore me, you're only speaking to me now because I've just mentioned this, she didn't apologize and I think it's important to note she wasn't rude either she just asked if it was just me, gave me a ticket stub and told me I could go upstairs.
At this point though I should've walked right back out, but I said man I'm here for my birthday lemme just eat.
Get upstairs, and the hostess upstairs sits the same two white women and then she comes back and there are two white women who arrived after me, tell me why she went to take the ticket stub from the other two white women instead of me whom she had just left at the counter??
Again I'm dumb cause I should've left at this point but damn I'm a victim to my own self. So I get seated and I started to look around and then I noticed, I'm seated in the black section. Like everybody in my section is black. The only black people seated to the middle or open areas of the restaurant are black people dinning with white people.
I ordered the shrimp scampi and honestly I didn't even know it was a holiday so I thought it was endless shrimp. I only knew the endless shrimp wasn't available due to the holiday when the waitress in the next section was telling her patrons that, my waitress said nothing to me.
I order the passion fruit Pina colada, lordt, I don't even need anybody to tell me, I already know what happened. The bartender made a non alcoholic Pina colada and poured the alcohol over it when it was done. Because otherwise why was my drink warm when I got it and when drinking it all I got was the taste of warm alcohol.
Had the chocolate cake for dessert and that was just ok.
Got my bill and tell me why it was $267.....had to let my waitress know it wasn't my bill. Not yall bringing me the bill for a table of white people that had already left. Man yall played in my face the whole evening but congrats cause yall did yall big one for sure.
I wouldn't come again, but if you're white or Latino this would be a really cute place for you. Also I heard other people's birthdays being celebrated but I can't fault them for not doing anything for me as I didn't say "o hi it's my birthday". But yeah 0/10 for me....I coulda stood in a field and picked cotton today and I probably would've felt more dignified than what I subjected myself to in this establishment. But yh I played myself so imma Chuck this up to the game and...
Read moreMy visit to Red Lobster in Times Square was nothing short of excellent. Located right in the middle of New York City’s most famous square, the restaurant is just steps away from the flashing billboards and bustling crowds. As soon as I stepped inside, it felt like I had entered a different world – a calm and cozy escape from the noise outside. The seafood-themed décor, warm lighting, and comfortable seating immediately set the tone for a relaxing meal.
The service impressed me from the start. We were greeted with a warm smile, and our table was ready almost immediately. Despite the fact that the restaurant was busy, the staff managed everything so efficiently that we never felt like we had to wait. Our drinks arrived quickly, and before we knew it, our table was filled with fresh, steaming seafood dishes that looked and smelled incredible.
We had decided to order a variety of plates to share, and every single dish exceeded our expectations. The lobster was the highlight – perfectly cooked, with tender, sweet meat that melted in my mouth. It was served with butter that complemented its flavor beautifully. The fish was equally delicious, flaky, and seasoned to perfection. The fish and chips came with a golden, crispy coating that was light yet satisfying, and the fries were fresh, hot, and perfectly salted. The fried shrimp were crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside, without being greasy at all. The boiled shrimp were plump, flavorful, and cooked just right – simple, but full of that fresh seafood taste.
What made the experience even better was how attentive the staff were. They checked in at just the right moments – enough to make sure everything was perfect, but never in a way that interrupted our conversation or enjoyment. Our drinks were refilled promptly, and they made sure that everything on our table stayed clean and organized.
The atmosphere was surprisingly peaceful for a restaurant located in one of the busiest places in the world. Even though Times Square was right outside the window, inside it felt calm and comfortable. The tables were spaced well enough to give us privacy, and the background music was soft and pleasant. The entire dining area was clean and well-maintained, and the restrooms were spotless.
By the end of the meal, we were completely satisfied – not just because of the delicious food, but because the entire experience was smooth, relaxing, and enjoyable. For anyone visiting New York who loves seafood, I can’t recommend Red Lobster in Times Square enough. It offers a perfect combination of fresh, flavorful food, fast and friendly service, and a peaceful atmosphere in the heart of one of the most exciting places in the world. This is definitely a place I will come back to on my...
Read moreHad a really really nice with my Mom. Food is really good. They make it how you like. My server had a shift change while we were dining. The servers transition was smooth. The new server that took over was new to the job. Personal I enjoy having new people serve me because I like to see them learn. I completely understand what it feels like to be new and I hold very little against them BECAUSE they are new. I am a rare customer that doesn't mean having a new to the job sever especially if they are willing to learn. Careless me I don't remember his name because I shall definitely describe him. He was dark-skinned, curling black hair, slim and bubble fun. I requested to have another of the same beverage I already had and finished. He studied my pervious beverage because he was new and the bartender was new also so new. They both wanted to get my beverage correct the first time and they indeed did. My Hostess was very sweet her name I did get. Pau was my Hostess name and before I can give her my table number she guessed it and she got it correct. She was being mindfull and paying attention to her new position which I totally picked up on being that she guessed my table number. Before she sat me and my Mom she asked what is the name of the item my Mom was holding and pushing. I then told her a Walker. I was impressed that she also wanted to learn. Whomever is hiring and running this Red lobster is doing a excellent job hiring the right people. They know how to put a very excellence team of workers together. To both my Server you were excellent in tending to me and my Mommie! Please forgive me for not remembering your names. You both know who you are. And too Pau I told you I was going to give your applause on Google reviews. Keep up the excellent work all three of you. And too the cooking, cleaning staff thank you deeply because us customer don't thank you enough because we never see your faces only your end results. Too all the "invisible" face thank you so very very very much! Blessings, love and...
