This is a really nice Italian restaurant if you’re going to be in Staten Island. The value that you get far exceeded my expectations. They offer a price fixed menu that is available any time that comes with a starter, main entre and dessert. The options were really good. I started with the mussels in white sauce and for my main entrée ordered the gluten-free pasta with pesto sauce. we had eight people all together and everyone had something slightly differently. The soup was a great starter and there are several options. The salads are all so nice in the summertime. Among the others on the table we had the lobster tail, veal marsala, chicken Parm and the linguine with seafood. My favorite meal was the dessert. The two most popular desserts among us was the chocolate soufflé and the traditional tiramisu.
This is the local and small very unpretentious kind of place that is welcoming for families with children. Last night they happen to have a party going on in the upstairs room. When the room is open it serves as additional seating space for the restaurant. Because of the party the service was a little slower than usual but we didn’t mind because we were having a casual night out and we weren’t in it a rush.
I must say that the gluten-free pasta that I had here was among the best I’ve had anywhere. I especially love their pesto because it wasn’t overly filled with garlic. It met with the approval of my 11-year-old niece who is usually a very finicky eater and she said that she was going to come back and have the gluten-free pasta next time. That was a pretty hearty endorsement.
It’s not a very chic chic experience but it's a great place to get together with family and friends. Give it a try if you're in the...
Read moreHidden Gem in Staten Island! I have passed this place place over and over again in life and just now experienced this culinary delight! I’m mad at myself for not going in sooner! Frank the owner and Executive chef makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in. His staff is Super attentive to your needs. Frank will even refill your drink when he sees it low, well oiled machine they run. Sometimes in a restaurant when you step out of the box and ask them to prepare something your way you are met with attitude and ultimately sometimes they won’t do it, not here! They have pounded, breaded veal chop (on the bone) | tri-colored salad w/ balsamic dressing and I asked for it to be parmed and met with no resistance. I’ve had this dish all over the US and hands-down is the best I’ve ever had, didn’t even need a knife to cut it! Ordered a small side of rigatoni and marinara on the side and the attention even given to that was amazing. Don’t be surprised if Frank lingers around and shoots the $h!T with you but remember your family. I’m a customer for life and there’s no reason to step off this island to Manhattan or AC when this is right in our backyard! Can’t wait to explore more things on the menu but I’m gonna have a hard time getting past my original veal parm on the bone dish. Desert closer with an expresso martini and again fantastic! A lot of comments on no parking but feel free to use the closed bank parking lot or the old Mitsubishi dealer lot,...
Read moreI rarely come to Staten Island or leave reviews, but I just have to let people know what I've experienced. Horrible customer service. I know it's an "Italian" restaurant. As much Italian as African or Russian. Disgustingly rude , nasty, and very likely uneducated 'manager' (prob owners son) is nothing but an Albanian thug. I had an early dinner there last Thur, and u should've seen and heard what this dirty guy did! Young woman parked her car for a minute and blocked 2 (!!!) inches of his driveway to pick up her son and this 'manager' went BALLISTIC on her, WHILE SHE WAS HOLDING HER BOY IN HER HANDS!! This incident completely ruined my appetite and everything tasted nasty afterward. Even somewhat polite waiter didn't seem polite at all. Food is cheap, though. Just as cheap as the experience. They just don't know what customer experience really is, yet. There's no need to yell at a woman, threaten, and call her names especially when she's holding her baby son! I wish he did this to my husband 5 years ago when my kids were smaller!!...
