Danny’s — Restaurant in New York

I was lucky enough to snag a reservation before the waitlist gets wild, and wow, this place already feels like it’s been part of the city forever. The space is stunning, warm, and timeless; every detail feels thought out but effortless. I’ve been in the NYC restaurant scene for a while, and you can just tell when a place is going to blow up. Danny’s will. Now, the food. I made the rookie mistake of having a heavy lunch earlier, so I kept it light, deviled eggs, the burger (oh my god, the burger), and a side of asparagus. The deviled eggs converted me. I hate eggs, but I ate them all lol The burger? Unreal. I can still smell it while writing this. It’s been years since I’ve had one that good. An exceptional experience from start to finish.

We started with both salads, the deviled eggs, and the spicy tuna and smoked salmon over rice. Each dish was fresh and full of flavor, with the smoked salmon standing out as my favorite bite of the night.

For the main course, we had the Lumache, the NY Strip, and a burger. The steak had a deep, dry-aged flavor and came with an incredible sauce that complemented it perfectly. The burger was cooked just right and easily ranks among the best I’ve had in the city.

This new neighborhood restaurant in Flatiron absolutely hits it out of the park. It’s cosy, welcoming and classy at the same time. A perfect date place or the spot to bring your parents or college kids when they’re in town. I could rave about every dish; but you have to try the black rice tuna appetizer, its crunchy in the outside and soft on the inside. Also the steak and the halibut - outstanding. I wasn’t surprised that the chef actually comes from James Beard award winning Alinea in Chicago. His dishes are spectacular. Run, don’t walk, while you can still get a reservation.
