Went to Grimaldi's in Las Vegas and in DUMBO. Both places were great!! Although had to wait about 1/2 hr in dumbo. But worth it. First time at 6th Ave NYC location. Very tight seating arrangements. Have no privacy. People are sitting on top of each other. Then waited for a table, had one open at 10:00pm at night that holds 6 people. They rather us wait, then to give us a table that holds 6 people. Meanwhile they were closing in a half hour. Were 6 people going to come in? Did not want to make customer happy. The owner in there, if he was the owner, he seemed to be, was very very rude. Ugh, I was so close to walking out. But I was so hungry. Other wise I would have walked out. Just because he has the Grimaldi name, he needs to be nicer to his customers. Waiters were not very friendly. Everyone that worked in there looked exhausted. It was more like, give me your money, Ill give u a pizza! the owner was in the cash drawer every 5 mins counting his money! Please...The place is in the Lime Light church what used to be in a corner. Not very clean area. As we left, I saw holes in the place covered up with Steel wool. I wonder why? Yuck! I think you should plaster it up, and not show Steel wool anywhere. Isnt that a sign of rodents? Gross! If I had to rate my whole experience from a 1-10 being the best, I would give it a 3!! Never again will they see me. DUMBO is the place to be. NOT THIS ONE!! By the way, be prepared to have CASH on hand. NO credit cards are accepted! CASH ONLY! A inconvenience! Oh one last thing, how can you call this Authentic when Mexican's are making the pizza!! GET REAL!! Your place isnt all that, and Im sure you will lose customers after this review! And the only way you can say this is a great place, is if you are visiting NY and a Tourist and dont know any better. Go up the block to a regular pizzeria. It will cost you a $1.00 a slice, and youll have happier and friendly...
Read morePlace was as stale looking as the service. Came in early on a Sunday night a few weeks back, instructed to sit wherever open near the front door. Sat and stared at the dead flies on the windowsill and dirt on the floors for a good 20 minutes until someone finally came to take our drink order. Only reason we didn't leave was because we had a Groupon that we wanted to use. The Gropuon deal was expired but it still retained the $12 value that I paid for it. Upon ordering a White pizza I informed the server about the Groupon, he told me he had to run it by his boss. About 10min later the manager on duty came back and said that they would NOT honor the Groupon because it had expired. I told him that I knew that and had informed the server that we were not expecting the deal, we just wanted the fair value that we paid for it. He told me that he had to call the owner first, I asked if this was a problem to not to start on the pizza and we would go elsewhere if they for some reason would not honor. He told me that the pizza was in already. 5min later he returns and said the owner would not accept the Groupon unless we called Groupon and had a rep confirm that this was in fact paid for...are you f*ing kidding me??? It was a Sunday night, there was no "calling Groupon". Next thing I know the pizza is delivered to our table and we are now responsible for the tab.
If anyone there had good customer service skills they would have noticed the situation we were in and at least offered something else in return (drinks on the house, appetizer, dessert, etc.). Instead they were quick to just say "no". We ate the pizza, paid and left never to return again. BTW- the pizza pie was mediocre - there are literally a dozen pizza joints around the area that serve a much better pie for a lot less than this joke of an establishment. Save your time and money and...
Read moreLimelight Pizza is hands down one of the best pizza spots in NYC and an absolute must-visit for food lovers! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the heavenly aroma of coal-fired perfection. Every dish is thoughtfully crafted and bursting with flavor.
We started with the garlic knots, which were dripping in mozzarella and served with an indulgent vodka sauce—seriously, the cheese pull was next-level! The fresh antipasto platter was a fantastic addition, featuring high-quality imported prosciutto and perfectly oven-roasted peppers. We also tried their homemade meatballs smothered in melted mozzarella, which were incredibly tender and flavorful.
The highlight of the meal was their Hot Honey-drenched After Hours pizza. It was a true flavor explosion, combining the perfect balance of sweet and spicy with their perfectly crisp coal-fired crust. It’s the kind of pizza you dream about long after the last bite!
