If you’re on the hunt for a unique and unforgettable culinary adventure, this Nigerian food truck is the hidden gem you need to visit! From the moment you approach, you’re greeted by an incredible staff who redefine hospitality. They are kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about helping you navigate the menu, ensuring you find the perfect dish—even if you’re completely new to Nigerian cuisine. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every bite is bursting with authentic, bold flavors that transport you straight to the heart of Nigeria. The jollof rice is rich and perfectly spiced, the chicken is tender with just the right kick of heat, and the puff-puff? Pure, fluffy, sweet perfection. Don’t even get me started on their egusi soup paired with fresh, soft fufu—it’s the ultimate comfort food! Will recommend This truck deserves to be famous not just for its incredible dishes but also for its warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel like family. Do yourself a favor and stop by—you’ll be supporting a local treasure while treating yourself to some of the best food you’ll ever eat. It’s time this hidden gem got the spotlight it deserves!

I’ve been patronizing this food truck for years, and I wanted to be sure I liked their dishes before making a decision, and I’m glad to say this food truck has really improved over the year, based on my consistent orders. I have tried most of the dishes they serve, my favorites are the Ilasepo, the honey beans with corn and dodo ( heaven in a plate) the spicy snails, which has just the right amount of spice (nothing over the top) and the goat meat peppersoup which is the perfect hangover remedy or even the perfect acquaintance for a cold day. The meat is so tender. The potions are good and they’re always well packaged, to avoid spills. I would be mad if that happened because I do not play with my Naija food. Every now and then they also send a freebie to thank me for my consistent patronage, which I truly appreciate. When I feel homesick, (which is a lot of times these days), DF Nigerian food truck really helps me cure that. Definitely my go-to for authentic Nigerian meals. I hope they stay as consistent, and if that truly is the case, God help my pocket

My coworker and I were craving West African food for lunch and found a Nigerian food truck nearby, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the jollof rice with jerk chicken and asked for it extra spicy but the rice ended up being pretty mild with no kick to it. The jerk chicken was flavorful but was unfortunately dry. We also got the egusi soup with beef and fufu. The beef was actually quite flavorful, but the egusi was a little too bitter for my taste. They did throw in some complimentary puff puff, which was a nice gesture, but it was a bit burnt so I didn’t really like it. It was also a bit pricey… Meh.

5/18/24 I just read the owner’s reply to my review. I have a few follow up questions and comments

Why are you keeping Agege bread in the fridge? You clearly stated that you make everything fresh daily and sell off leftovers at a discount at the end of each day. Did I miss something? Was Agege bread excluded from the daily fresh items?

Putting the first question aside for a moment, if the bread was in the fridge and not the freezer, why heat it up in the microwave? What’s the point?

You assumed I, and perhaps others, wanted warm bread. Why didn’t you ask? You should always ask your customers first rather than assume. After all, the Agege bread was not listed as warm bread on your menu, so I had no such expectation. By the way, warming bread in the microwave should be avoided for obvious reasons. When it’s necessary, there are precautionary steps to take to prevent overheating.

Regarding your claim of making everything fresh daily, it doesn’t add up for me, but I understand why you say it's your practice. If you truly do this, kudos to you. However, I have to say the jollof rice I bought that day was bland and did not taste fresh at all.

I could go on, but there’s no point in dissecting your comments further. I have already addressed the key points. Since there are some good reviews online, I am willing to reconsider my opinion about your services. The good reviews suggests that some customers have had better experiences. It makes me wonder if the quality of your food varies from one day to the next or if it is due to individual preferences. I should also mention the possibility of bot reviews. One thing I know for sure is that when jollof rice is delicious, it’s undeniable. Even your competitors can’t deny it. That, I can guarantee.

Thanks, but no thanks for offering a refund. I wrote the review because it was hard for me to believe that I bought food from a Nigerian food truck, parked in front of the Nigerian embassy in the middle of Manhattan, NYC, and it was so bad. It was a hard pill for me to swallow.

Please take this as constructive criticism. There is no ill will here. I don’t own a restaurant and I don’t live in New York City, so I am not a competitor. The purpose of the review was to make you aware of these issues. I hope this honest feedback will encourage you to revisit your processes. Work on improving the quality of your food and the overall customer experience. Please don’t compromise on the quality of your food. As a paying customer, I as well as others like me, deserve value for our money. Thank you.

initial review moved here 👇🏾 My experience at the DF food truck was disappointing to say the least. I bought goat meat stew, Jollof rice, efo riro and agege bread. Only the goat meat stew was tolerable. Everything else was horrible. The efo riro was not fully cooked. The vegetables (spinach) was crunchy to the bite. It was plain without ‘emi’ in it, boring and tasteless. Next Jollof rice omg! on a scale of 1-10, it was 0/10. Tasteless, flavorless overcooked rice. Horrible to say the least. The worst of it all was the agege bread. They offer full loaf or half loaf. I ordered full loaf but I was given half loaf without any explanation. I was not aware of the switch until I got home. As if that wasn’t bad enough, please be aware, they keep most of their food in the freezer including bread so they are not freshly made. The frozen bread was defrosted in the microwave. Can anyone believe it? Well this is not a joke because it happened to me. By the time I got home, the bread was as hard as stone. I paid over $60 that day and gave a big tip but the food that not edible except the goat meat which I ended up eating by itself. The rest went in the trash. I can’t believe this truck is still open. How is it possible? The worst Nigerian food I...

The owner is passionate in what he does and over the years he has continued to bring not only the best Nigeria dishes to our tables but has also expanded his horizons in creating other African dishes as well as American dishes. Food is always hot with warm reception when been attended to, the ambiances of not just the owner but the entire staff continues to be the success story of the restaurant. My first time of tasting Divine food was at a friend's daughter's wedding about 9 years ago, and coming across him at the Nigeria embassy where he has a truck stand was the final one that got me stuck to Divine food. The owner is caring and have great respect for his customers. During the pandemic last year, he was able to deliver ordered food to my house from NY to Philly when I called him and told him my kids were craving for his food especially the jollof rice and suya. Our order was hot cos he had them in Warners. My friend recently had a 50th party in Philadelphia for her husband where he catered, the food was well prepared and served. Everyone at the party was happy about the hospitality of the entire Divine crews. FOR BEST NIGERIAN DELICACIES SUCH AS ASUN, SUYA, JOLLOF RICE, ABULA, BUKA STEW etc. LOOK NO FURTHER CALL DIVINE. YOU WILL NOT REGRET ORDERING FOOD...

Stopped by to pick up lunch for a friend. They said the food was very good, though higher prices than they would like. Though not familiar with the cuisine, i thought the food was superb, well seasoned and delicious. Evidently much care is put into ingredients and proper preparation so the high quality merits the prices, at least for occasional enjoyment. Also the line of eager, patient fans of this food truck was indicative to me how devoted their regular customers are. Be prepared to wait, be clear what you want or if you have questions: it takes a while for gentleman to take each order one at a time and to prep the orders. The gentleman in the truck did all the order taking and food prep. It is a hectic one man job. I waited a total of over an hour, but part of this was not understanding how the line worked (not a straight line, ask which persons are waiting to submit their orders versus customers who have already paid and are waiting for their food). Also you must keep your payment receipt to show them when confirming you are picking up correct order. Would love to try their food again, but better prepared to wait nexttime. Also at the time, they do NOT take cash, only credit card...
