In life, there are just few things I have ever considered outstanding and exceptional. A first in the food service industry, it is in this particular location that I have experienced such.
With my original intent to try just a small order as my budget was $6, I asked the cashier, if they had anything in the price range. She did not answer the question and in a roundabout way, push me to buy a full priced $16 bowl. At this point, Eduardo, a manager took notice and immediately said yes side orders start at $4. I thanked him and shook his hand for knowing how to give a direct answer and immediately acknowledged him by saying you must be the manager. Persistent as the cashier wanted to have the last word and put shade on Eduardo, she reiterated that if I chose veggies, carbs and proteins that it'll be over $4 anyway as if everyone the world except for herself is too stupid to know that in which I simply replied I will only take the $4 Mac And Cheese. Thank you very much.
At this point Eduardo pulled my wife and I aside (to safety) and explained how they periodically change the menu items and that would literally happen the very next day, also they grow their own produce and have quite a few locations. He really wanted us to give them a try and much to our surprise, bought each of us a bowl. I was absolutely moved by his generousity and couldn't accept such a bountiful offer but when he insisted, I took up his offer. I got Rice, Mac n Cheese, Chicken while my wife got Beets, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Cous Cous and Fried Fish. We topped it off with Sriracha and Pesto Sauce. And guess what? He took the order in Lieu of the Cashier! Nice!
We thanked him so much and as we were sitting and enjoying the delicious meal, he came over and told us that he once had dinner with the owners and they are about giving back. Because he noticed that my wife and I were informed consumers asking certain types of questions, they appreciate true feedback. He then surprised us again and gifted us 2 more full lunches to try at other locations and this time, it was more than I can mentally handle--remember the saying "kill them with kindness?" that's sort of what happened to me.
Thank you so much Eduardo from the bottom of my heart, you are the best and I truly wish you much success and to Dig Inn as a whole, you guys have a wonderful mission and your food is...
Read morePopped in here after fighting for my life in the absolute zoo of 18-34 year old women that is Aritzia. I don't wish an Aritzia Soho weekend trip during Christmas time upon my worst enemy ahaha.
I staggered out of the zoo at around 2pm and had an internal crisis on whether or not to eat before our dinner at 6:15, as all I had had was a bagel in the morning. "Would a Dig bowl spoil my dinner?" ... "I want to be hungry but not hangry"... "What if I--" It was just at this very moment that I remembered who I was, and that I absolutely needed a meal and would still eat a big dinner because I'm an ANIMAL. When you from where I'm from...........
I went with the charred chicken, sweet potatoes, and kale salad with a farro base as it has literally never missed. I have such a soft spot for Dig because it's like a farm to table Chipotle that doesn't leave you completely immobilized for the next 6 hours. It's not one of those fake farm to tables either, you can taste the farminess.
Reviewing this location specifically because of the 2nd floor where you can sit and eat with a view, I was shocked at how nice the ambiance was for a mf Dig ahahah. It is on the corner of Crosby and Prince street and has big windows where the natural light floods in and you have an unobstructed view of the iconic cobblestone streets. I also got their Ginger Mint Lemonade and trust me, the hype is real.

Read moreI am Vegan, I've been eating at Dig Inn since 2018. I usually greet the server but I get a rude reply. year after year the service declines, serving portions decrease, and prices raise.
I only order kale salad (nothing else) because in my opinion it's the best on the menu for me. Each time I order I'm met with an attitude and a different price. When I ask for extra topping that is included in the salad I'm charged whole $ amounts for bred crumbs and dressing. All while being served with big attitude.
I should not be paying $$ to be disrespected and served a half full bowl with 2 scoops of kale salad. ( I always have to ask the server to fill the bowl with kale, it's really insane that I keep coming back. (The kale is that good)
It's a shame a long time vegan customer like me is being treated with disrespect and attitude.
it would be great if you could advise store management/ staff to be more understanding of vegan customers.
lastly I would love to receive a form of compensation for all the Tims I've over paid and encountered poor service.
