The manager, Damien Alexander, is not reflective of the values one would expect from a wellness-focused establishment—his demeanor was shockingly unprofessional and dismissive, making him one of the most unkind employees I’ve ever encountered. This was particularly surprising given the positive reviews about the rest of the staff, who are described as welcoming and accommodating. It’s perplexing to experience such negativity from someone in a leadership role who should be upholding this company's values and setting a standard of kindness, positivity, and professionalism should be a priority.
As someone who has spent the past decade as a leading beauty and wellness magazine editor in New York, I’ve been hosted by numerous global fitness and world-class wellness brands to experience and share their facilities with my audience. I frequently visit top-tier locations both in New York and beyond, often sharing my experiences on social media with a large following. However, this visit to Restore Wellness was a personal experience, not professional, and I paid for the service out of my own pocket. What transpired was disappointing enough that I feel compelled to write this review, which is rare for me.
I’m an avid fitness enthusiast and was genuinely excited to try this new location. However, from the moment I called to schedule an appointment, I was met with a brash and dismissive tone from Damien. Despite mentioning that I’m highly athletic and regularly use Sunlighten saunas, he insisted that I could only book 35 minutes for my session instead of the usual 45, at the same price, since it was my first visit to Restore. I understand if that’s company policy, but the real issue was that the sauna didn’t function properly.
When I arrived, I patiently waited for the sauna to be cleaned. Once it was ready, Damien simply gestured for me to follow him with a dismissive wave of his hand, without saying a word. His lack of engagement was unsettling. During my 35-minute session, the sauna temperature remained in the 150-degree range, never increasing, which meant I barely broke a sweat. It was a frustrating and disappointing use of my time and money.
After the session, I exited the room, and approached the front desk to pay. He didn’t look up at all or ask how my experience had been. Instead, the first thing he said was, "That will be $55." His disinterest in even the most basic customer service was astounding. I asked him what the sauna’s maximum temperature was, and he replied, "170." I then informed him that the sauna seemed to be malfunctioning since it hadn’t reached even 160 degrees during my session, and I didn’t sweat at all.
Rather than show any concern, he dismissively replied, "Well, if you’re opening and closing the door, that messes with the temperature." I calmly responded that I had not opened the door during the session, to which he responded, "Well, I don’t know. I wasn’t in the room." There was no apology, no attempt to offer a solution—just indifference and plain rudeness.
I quickly paid and left, feeling truly appalled by the entire experience and his negative energy. This visit was not only a waste of my time (and money) but also left a lasting negative impression. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this location, and I certainly won’t...
Read moreFirst time I am going to leave an online review but I am so disappointed with this location, my partner came from Longisland to visit to give me a reservation for RESTORE services for Valentine's Day, and I was so excited to go because he had already told me a lot about this place and because I am also a person with anemia and those services suit me, but unfortunately I had an uncomfortable experience and terrible service! Even my partner was super uncomfortable and disappointed since he also works for RESTORE!! The only one who behaved professionally and did her job well and kindly was the nurse Rebecca, then the representative Joanna and the other 2 girls whose names I don't know were not professional, they were there the entire time we were there, they were gossiping and talking bad about other people criticizing the clients, especially JOANNA, her behavior was super uncomfortable for me and my partner, he was in a chair and she settled on the counter with her butt facing the front of my partner, she was wearing leggings and it seemed like she did it on purpose like she had a little crush on him and he had to ask them to remove the pressure device he was using because all he could see was Joanna's butt for more than 10 minutes! That's a lack of respect, she also had an attitude and was flirtatious as if he wasn't with his girlfriend! Apart from that, they weren't even friendly, they didn't even have conversations with us about the services or anything, they just “enter cry, enter red light” and they left, that was all. We felt uncomfortable, we felt alone even though there were 4 girls working and just the two of us, it wasn't even busy, and we felt that they disrespected us, they even affected our relationship because of the way those 3 girls behaved flirtatiously (excluding Rebecca) We will not return again, we spent money and it was the worst experience!!! Those girls didn't even have enough knowledge about the services or information about RESTORE i think i know more about it than those 3 girls (again exlcuding Rebecca the asian girl) , they are only at the front desk to be pretty, be in leggings, gossip about the clients and flirt with the clients' partners!!! I feel ashamed for RESTORE! I hope those girls are proud of their behavior and work at their grown age! Joanna have like black and blonde lockshair and skins color like white, and looks...
Read moreI’m so excited to be able to write a review for Restore Hyper Wellness that I hope I can express in words what I want to say. One day coming from work on the train I saw a promotion for a vitamin IV. I knew at that moment I needed to schedule an appointment and decided to send a text message. I received a message back from Erik asking me what day I wanted to schedule. When I went I was a little nervios because this is all so new to me but as soon I entered the door everyone was so friendly and helpful that I felt comfortable right away. The professionalism and warmth I received is just amazing. I go to the location in Flatbush in Brooklyn. If you are feeling low in energy and need a place to start a healthy journey this is the place to start. You will not regret it. Money can’t buy the feeling of energized after an IV treatment here at Restore Hype Wellness. For my Spanish speaking people, por favor no duden en tomar unos momentos para ustedes y recargar sus baterías para seguir en la jornada del día a día. No se van arrepentir de ese momento q sacaron para sus cuerpos. No ay dinero q pague sentirse saludables. Thank you Erik for always checking on me for discounts and promotions and a big thanks to all your...
