My first bad review -- ever! I hate dishonesty disguised as truth! I asked the servers if they had no-sugar-added ice cream and they showed me their "moose tracks." It looked interesting, so I asked what the sugar substitute was, and I was told, with a sweet smile, that moose tracks was sweetened with splenda. Ok, not great, but at least digestible. So I had two scoops -- very tasty. A couple of hours later, an effing volcano started erupting in my stomach and intestines while I was driving -- with no access to a bathroom. I made an emergency phone call home, requesting that the bathroom be left unoccupied until I get there. I made it in time - just barely -- after moaning and groaning in pain throughout a torturous and dangerous (to myself and others) drive. I then went online and checked the ingredients of that evil garbage, and I saw that it was LOADED with several sugar alcohols, including maltitol, the laxative from hell. EIGHT GRAMS OF SUGAR ALCOHOL PER SCOOP/SERVING! So I had 16 grams of that dangerous merde, with no warning. And yeah, it had splenda -- the LAST effing ingredient -- they obviously added a tiny amount just so they could say it was the sweetener (I assume their profit margin is higher with the sugar alcohols). Such misleading, deceitful and blatant disregard for their customers! At the very least, a responsible company would make it clear to their clientele (as I have seen other companies do) that a product "contains sugar alcohols, which can have a laxative effect." I will never return to Emack...
Read moreI had Emack and Bolio’s on my bookmarks for over a year and after a long debate, we decided to hit this place first for our Sunday -Ice cream Day-.
I was so excited to have one of their funny looking cones but my excitement didn’t last long after entering the business.
First, we were being served my this super rude girl and her vibe was just off. I really wanted to walk out but after waiting like 10 to 15 minutes, we decided to stay and have her vibe blocked from getting to us. I think this is one of the main things when walking into a business, first impressions count and that will affect whether the client will come back or not!! Me, for example, won’t step back in this location ever again!!
Their ice-cream was actually very good!!!!! I had Cookie Monster and the Original Oreo. I really liked them both, a lot!!! Couldn’t decide since they’re very similar but you have to get them if you’re an oreos fan.
The cone on the other hand was not what I was expecting… it was so hard and difficult to eat. I recently got braces and didn’t think the cone was going to be so hard, the cone literally took the wire out. I guess I was expecting freshly made cones vs their cones, I guess seating there for a while.
The three stars are just because their ice cream deserves recognition, it was very good!!! But everything else needs some sort of improvement, specially the customer...
Read moreHorrific. Walked into this place excited to try it for the first time and was met with two horrible personalities behind the counter. Even after saying thank you after being handed our ice cream which was done in complete silence and not a morsel of kindness, we left to sit outside and eat our ice creams on the bench. After having such a weird experience inside, we looked at the reviews while eating our ice cream, and read one about someone having a fever and throwing up after eating their. Seconds later my boyfriend pulled a gigantic hair out of his space cake ice cream. I walked in immediately to get a refund, and was not given any kind of apology, in fact they wanted to give me another scoop- to which I said I would just liked a refund. The girl didn’t know how to process immediately and rolled her eyes asking if the other person working knew how to do it.
Will never come back here, save yourself from a terrible experience and...
