I almost never do five stars on a first visit, but I could see this place getting five after a few visits. I tried the acquits gorda, pastelon, and Phuket tacos. The menu is interesting, both with respect to tacos and drinks, and in a good way. The tacos I tried were all very good. The shrimp in the Phuket were tiny, which wasn’t what I expected, and that one was less flavorful than I expected based on the menu—I could pass on that to try some others on another visit.
They bring out chips and salsa when you sit down, which is not so common any more, and is a nice touch. The chips have and herb on them, probably cilantro, although didn’t taste it specifically after loading up the chips with salsa.
Friendly and prompt service. I imagine they fill up on evenings, by mid-afternoon when they open is easy.
I wish "secret sauce" could, for once, mean something other than thousand island. Unfortunately, his isn't the spot for that. I don't do mayo, but I decided to roll he dice here. It looks like water thousand island.
On the upside, their salsa and hot sauces are very good. The hot sauces come in unlabeled boxes and might be housemade.
Reasonable prices, although they make sense for the area. $4-$5 per taco, about $10 for drinks. Three tacos or so is plenty for a lighter meal, so you're probably looking at at least $30 per person.
They have guest WiFi, which is a nice bonus--ask for...
Read moreI stopped in to Frescos unknowing of how the food would taste, however I was grabbing food for my friend and I. I got the loaded nachos and the steak with rice & beans dinner. I’ll have to say that food absolutely tasted soooo good I was almost disappointed I didn’t get 2 dinners.
However, as my friend and I picked at both the nachos and the steak dinner we became full very fast and hardly put a dent into both meals. We ended clearing some space lol, and ate the rest of the food that solidified the meals greatness.
The atmosphere was cute and date like in the evening time that I was there. It wasn’t as busy as I’d expect with great service and food like this, however it was a Tuesday night if I’m not mistaken.
The server whom I forgot his name already because it took me too long to write this review was an amazing experience. He explained their menu with specials they had that night and intentionally cooked up some convo which was cool.
As I waited for my food the customer at the bar began to talk me up as well and there it was, a fluctuation of good vibes, a drink and good character to let me know that I’d return their again to stay and sit down for a meal and...
Read moreOur experience at Fresco's Cantina was pretty bad. We were seated quickly enough for a party of 5, but it took an long time to even give our drink orders and get our waters (I'm someone who has worked in restaurants before, so I'm more understanding of service issues typically than most, but the place was almost empty and our server kept talking with friends at a table). Then our food order took almost 70 minutes to be served, and 2 people's orders were missing, so theirs took another 20. One of the shrimp tacos had one single small shrimp in it, and most of the portions seemed very small for the price. To make up for the missing food, they gave a comped drink to one friend, and it had a fly in it, so they didn't drink it. They replaced it when we pointed it out. Luckily they took a few items off the bill for the mix up, but I won't be going back. Some of the food was tasty, so I'll still give...
