I don’t like to write reviews like this but this was the WORST service I’ve experienced since living in NYC. To start off they seated us and asked us if we would like sparking or still water and I said both because I didn’t know what my friends that we we’re waiting on would like. They charged us $10 per bottle of water and never once mentioned the water wasn’t free. We got bottomless brunch and repeatedly had to ask for refills on all of our mimosas. We were one out of two tables in the whole restaurant so there wasn’t really any excuse for not getting service considering the manager was sitting at the bar on his phone and watching a baseball game. In between watching the game he kept going over to the other table I’m the restaurant and was flirting really hard with the two young lady’s at the table asking them for their Instagram and what not. When we ordered the food the lady who took our order said they didn’t have home fries even though it was on the menu and she did not know the menu at all. We ordered two breakfast burritos two French toasts and one Chilaquiles. When they brought the food out the only thing they got right was one of the breakfast burritos. The rest of the food they brought out was all egg Benedict’s which no one ordered.. when the brought the correct food out they still forgot the fries. I had spoke to the manager prior to eating about the birthday we were there to celebrate and he told me that they bring out the dessert menu and the person who is celebrating their birthday gets a complimentary dessert and sparkler and they sing to them. When they brought the bill which was almost $400 they charged us for the dessert.. between having to constantly ask for refills on our drinks, the managers behavior, the food consistently being wrong and the extra charges on our bill I would highly recommend you save your money and don’t go here. You...
Read moreAttended a social dinner event that the staff seemed to be unaware of. We were confused if someone else was to be joining our table and from that moment on essentially we were treated as if our presence was an inconvenience to them. Between the annoyance that we configured ourselves spread out amongst the three two tops together, we got stared at uncomfortably at the table we realized they wanted to use now that we had less people. The woman moved to vacate that table and they wasted no time setting it. Understandable if we had simply been asked to consolidate. The vegan tacos were yummy but not worth the price paid. One of the other women was still eating when a waiter attempted to take her plate away. I was never offered a refill of the soda I had, they just snatched the glass away. When I ordered a dessert and coffee the overwhelming feeling was not one of accommodation but one of distaste. Though I did request cream and sugar it was not brought and the coffee was simply placed in front of me black. It took my asking politely twice for them and the sugar was slammed down in front of me which startled me. The cream was hot which, though a small positive, was appreciated. The coffee and flan were delicious. It was amusing that for the small size of the dessert they did set four spoons on the table. I made journey down the wrong stairway and ended up by the kitchen instead of the restroom. I l immediately turned to go back upstairs and it was quite obvious I was going to be scolded for my my mistake.
All in all I am very disappointed in my experience at Frida Midtown and I won’t be spending my money...

I was there with my husband for Valentines Day. We had a reservation for 8:40pm. When we arrived they said our reservation was for 9:40. We complaint and they gave us a table in 5min. (They were mistaken)
I ordered a well done Filet Mignon and it was not even medium well… but rare. Apart from taking 30 min to get to our table. I couldn’t eat it and had to wait for another plate. They brought the “fixed” meal but they just burnt the filet and was still raw in the middle.
Ordered Sweet Plantains and Cotija: Plantains were raw in the middle and extra ripe so they were mushy and weird in the middle.
Ordered a virgin mojito and it took at least 40min to arrive.. to the point that I told them to cancel my drink. (They gave it to me at no cost) my husband got his drink first at a reasonable time.
Ordered a Tres Leches and apart from being late as well they gave me the wrong dessert. After that they took again 20+ min to give me the right one. My husband received his order right.
After the whole experience I think the host didn’t like me and put a note or something so they can give me a crappy service just to me, and they absolutely did.
The waiter even knew I was pregnant and didn’t even care...
