Food: As a table we got the arancini to start. It was delicious and I wish it came with more of the truffle aioli.
For the entree, I got the paperdelle with mushrooms. Paperdelle pasta is hard to come by in NY so I was really excited to try it. The pasta tasted delicious but could have used a little more truffle oil. The paperdelle could have been a little more al dente but I just got back from Italy so I may be being picky.
My husband and 2 other dinner mates got the burger. All three told me they were impressed with the taste and really enjoyed it. The salad that came with the burger apparently had a good dressing and everyone actually finished their salad!
I did try the fries as it came in a separate container than the burger. They were nice and crispy and tasted good.
Overall, the food was good but for me a bit under salted. Note: I tend to have a higher salt tolerance especially when it comes to pasta and fried food.
My husband was very excited as they had hoegaarden beer on tap and they even had La Chouffe Golden Ale by the bottle. Apparently both these things are hard to come by, especially in one place. I personally was very impressed with the wine selection they had. I got a very nice French wine and it tasted delicious.
Price: The food was reasonably priced especially for the portion size.
Service was very friendly and quick. They came and checked on us multiple times and were always there to refill our water and...
Read moreMunchies Korner is literally on the corner. They offer classic American fine cuisine. We heard they are popular for their handcrafted cocktails. Since we don’t drink we got mocktails. We asked them to surprise us. Our waiter came out with a passion fruit and pineapple mocktail. Both were sweet and tangy. Super fun to sip on while we ate our food. We started off with arancini. We highly recommend this dish. The fried Italian risotto sitting on top of truffle aoli. It was out of the world. Each bite was so delicious. The classic snapper ceviche was really good too if you like ceviche. The fish was super fresh and the marinade was perfect. These dishes are perfect for sharing. For our entrees, we got chicken leg fettuccine. The chicken leg was so big, we were surprised. It was so good, the meat was so flavorful, it pairs so nicely with their fettuccine. The braised beed cheeks was so tender. The meats flavors were so rich and drenched in red wine. We ended off our meal with their house made tiramisu. The dessert was so soft. There was a drizzle of a berry purée. You can tell they put a lot of effort and the best ingredients when they use house made berry purée too, instead of that bright red...
Read moreAwful. Not even after a late night out did this place taste good. Considering there is a hole in the area for late night pizza this is one of the only spots open past 11pm on 3rd Ave. HOWEVER it’s highway robbery for trash pizza. $6.75 for chicken bacon ranch. I got one plain, one CBR, and one Hawaiian and it came out to $18. That’s crazy. Not even good quality ingredients.
The pizza was so dry and flavorless. Do yourself a favor and walk an extra 3 blocks for some decent slices.
With all the marketing they are doing i was really hoping for an improvement since it seems like an owner switch with the new signs but who knows the pizza is still awful and the prices are even worse. Have you ever seen market price for specialty slices??...
