First and last time eating here. Starting from the top, the service was poor, rather quickly my waiter came and asked “Do you know what you want” I had barely gotten seated so I replied that I did not. I reviewed the menu and decided that there was too many wonderful sounding items to decide, so I would ask the waiter what the Buccaneer is known for and choose based on his recommendations. I waited for around fifteen minutes for him to return and when he did, he suggested a dozen or so different items, so I had to think about what he suggested, so he left and again didn’t return for an unnecessarily long time (~10 - 15 min with my menu closed). When he returned I ordered the Chorizo omelet as that was among his first recommendations and it sounded delicious. At this point he also took my drink order (should have had a drink for 25-30 minutes). The food came out pretty quick but right away I noticed that the ‘buttered’ bread they brought was not what I asked for so they brought me the correct bread ‘unbuttered’. The omelette didn’t taste fresh, the avocado was more like guacamole and didn’t have the typical fresh flavor, the taste of avocado wasn’t there. The chorizo flavor was also not present and at first I thought they left it out when I found these very small cubes of meat which I suspect was the chorizo however they didn’t have the typical chorizo texture / color / or taste that I’m familiar with. The peppers were one of the only ingredients that stood out. While they stood out they didn’t taste fresh. Finally the salsa must have come out of a jar and there was no sour cream on my food. I was a bit distracted, so I figured I would slowly force myself to eat this disaster of a meal and then when my waiter came by to see how the food was I would let him know and hopefully get something better. But he never came. I ate about half of the omelet before I couldn’t stomach any more. There was also very bland and barely acceptable tasting potatoes. Overall, the star of the meal was the unbuttered bread. When a waitstaff finally did stop by and ask me if it was ok, I said “actually my meal was not very good”, he then asked me “would you like it to go?” and of course I said no. Then I thought that maybe when I paid at the register the woman would ask how everything was, but she didn’t and honestly wasn’t friendly. Apparently this place doesn’t care about their quality of service or food. I should have heeded the other reviews talking about these same issues. I figure they had at least two opportunities to get me to come back and try something else, but since they passed on both I see no reason to waste my money or time here again. It’s too bad because it’s near my place and it...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting this restaurant. it was around 1230 at night and a lot of food places was closed. I searched on Google to find somewhere that was open. We located this diner. When we arrived The staff was very gracious. We was greeted and introduced to our waiter. By the name of Charlie. Charlie was exceptional, he was attentive. He was honest about the menu and very knowledgeable about all the items, and very courteous. Before we could order we were presented with some bread which was good. I ordered chicken Alfredo. I requested the chicken to be grilled. That was very good. Seasoned pretty good. I also ordered the chicken wings. I requested that they were cooked soft. They cook them perfect they were good as well slight spicy, but just right I use ranch dressing as a dipping sauce. then ordered the chicken soup. It was a chicken and rice soup. It was very very very good. seasoned and full of flavor. I also ordered a drink of sex on the beach. It was very good. I was feeling tipsy off of just that one drink. The manager came by twice and checked on me and my guests to make sure that we were OK and that the food was good and if we had any complaints. The price of the food was actually very affordable for quality food. Also the menu is very extensive there are so many choices to choice from for all occasions and time of the day. the location is in a great area the inside looked nice. Love the details overall this was a great experience. I cannot wait to come back to this area to go back and visit this location. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and commend them and their gracious staff on doing such a good job, especially to out of towners...
Read moreGem, Gem, Gem....... I have always known that buccaneers been undeniably the best dinner around. A hidden gem, that only some fortunate folks like myself have stumble into and tried such great and delicious food. Maybe I been a bit selfish and I have been keeping this a secret as I hate long lines, just the thought of having to wait long for food while being hungry, gets me not in the right mood. But that was years ago when I use to live across the restaurant, Now living much further away I have to be frank. I have not been ordering in some time. That all changed when I was craving a chicken parmigiana at 4 am (buccaneers’ dinner is open 24 hours) and all of sudden remembered how great buccaneers chicken parmigiana tasted. Saliva began to fill my lower tongue as my fingers pressed “confirm order” on my Uber app. As the order arrived and I took my first bite. I couldn’t believe what I was tasting. What was this? My mind exclaimed! As the flavors burst into my mouth. The crunchiness of the breaded chicken was great and savory. The cheese was of great quality so consequently it tasted great and the tomato sauce was plain delicious. All this flavor over some good linguini pasta. Am very judgmental when it comes to food because I make these dishes from time to time but that’s another story and we don't have...
