COME HERE INSTEAD OF KATZ'S!
Like I said, if you're in the area and want some bagels or breakfast food, 100% come here. Lots of people visiting and even some other locals I know will choose Katz's for bagels in the area or even as a specific place to go to, and if you want specifically to go to Katz's, that's up to you. But I would choose this place 100 times over. At Katz's you'll find block-long lines around the clock, super crowded interiors, and high prices. I would instead recommend going to this classic NYC bagel spot, like one you might see in some romcom. Looking past the basicness, it is actually a hidden gem. Although it has limited seating, it isn't often extremely crowed, so it can be a nice sit-down spot for a bit. The food is incredible, with warm, crispy, fresh out of the oven bagels with flavorful and textureful lox, not to mention the ASTONISHINGLY affordable prices for Manhattan. I would personally getting a everything (or any flavor of your choice) toasted with classic cream cheese and lox. I loved the sit down experience in the window seats, but you can take it to a park or other outdoor spot to eat and it's guaranteed to warm you up on a chilly winter day or fill you up and make you happy on a peppy summer day. This spot should absolutely be on your NYC bucket list, especially if you're staying in or on an outing...
Read moreOn 9/24/18, I ordered a Percy’s Sandwich and a Chicken Parmesan Hero Sandwich at this business. When I got home, I bit into the Percy and almost broke a tooth as the chicken was hard, thin and as dry as the Sahara Desert! My kid bit into his chicken parm and quickly declared “the chicken is STALE”. When I took a look at his sandwich it was the same thin, dry, hockey puck chicken as the one in mine! $13 worth of sanwiches down the drain! Don’t waste your money on sandwiches here—at least not the chicken ones. Stick to just the bagels with cream cheese, butter and/or jelly, etc., which would be hard to screw up. Maybe just keep any eye on the guy who makes it. Very disappointed, as I have gone here several times before and the food was good, though it’s possible HHB is under new ownership and/or management. Proceed with caution at...
Read morethere was a moment in The Wire when Marlo Stansfield says: “price of the brick going up” and similarly every calorie of gluttony sadly has gone up in NYC since 2019. thankfully, Heaven’s Hot Bagel’s quality hasn’t suffered and the price increases have been moderate. the unpretentious breakfast and lunch spot serves up comforting eats from morning to afternoon for those with cash or card. Heaven’s Hot Bagel is just one of those gems in NYC that is good vibes and good food. stopped by and grabbed a bacon, egg, & cheese and it was what every breakfast sandwich should be filled with—crispy bacon, fluffy scrambled, and melty cheese in a warm soft roll. the service is friendly—tip them, accordingly....
