Hibernia Bar — Restaurant in New York

I came from out of town with my family because i looked up Steelers restaurants on google. But this place was horrible. There was no room inside and no seating outside ! And the unfriendly guy only said to me that i have to buy a drink just to stand outside in the pee smelled street. Nice greeting. They let people crowd the door entrance. The outside place outside smelled horrible like a really strong urine smell(guess they dont have water to get rid of it?). No bathroom, not family friendly and i came an hour from upstate. The outside people had maybe 2 chairs and people were moving around because they were sitting directly in the sunlight and theres no sun shade. The tv outside u cant see clearly because of silly flags outside that serve no purpose except for blocking your vision. Google recommended but it SUCKS. The only sort of welcome i got was fhe guy said i had to buy a drink just to stand on the street. I was happy at first to be with other Steelers fans but theres a way nicer place around the corner with seating and bigger tvs and food. Would not recommend this place unless u like standing outside and the smell of pee and unfriendly staff lol. Steelers fans deserve the best and thats just a disgrace. No welcome or hello just u have to pay to watch....

What a great place to hang out!

Popped in on our first night in NYC, we weren't sure what to expect but were greeted with a warm welcome so we decided to have a few beers and some food, the food was excellent and there was a large selection of beers. Steffi (I think, sorry if I got that wrong!!!), was an excellent bar maid and very chatty, which made us feel at ease.

So much so that we went back on our final night for a goodbye dinner! Again the service was great and Steffi remembered us (unusual as in England they don't!) and remembered our drink order.

The atmosphere was great, both nights we went the "football" was on and we were treated to a proper NYC bar experience.

It is a cool place to hang out alone or with mates, it does get crowded early (unsurprising), so if you want a seat at the bar, or a table, get there early and start on a few pints of the...

Went here with family recently looking for an authentic pub experience and some good pub grub. And that is mostly what we got. Jackson our server was friendly and attentive. The Guinness was spot on and my uncle's shepherd’s pie drew high praise. The fries were good and a chicken caesar salad was good.

HOWEVER, I am taking away two stars for something that was truly stunning. My English dad and I both ordered what is billed as “traditional” beer battered fish and chips. What we got did not in any way resemble traditional fish and chips. We each got what were basically three egg roll like things with shells that resembled chewy egg roll wrappers with a little bit of fish inside. Truly terrible.
