Came here on a Tuesday afternoon to get some work done. It was nice to see they had an outdoor patio area in the back. The front has seating outdoors but even with the table umbrella, the sun would’ve still been too strong, so I sat in the back patio area. Looks to be 4 separate table areas and they are spaced in a way that leaves plenty of room between tables which was nice, it is also shaded, one seating option has a tent-style covering (you can see it in the second photo).
I ordered an iced skim-milk chai laté- It was a bit on the sweeter side but it was tasty overall. I also had an açaí bowl option #1 which was ok, nothing special- portion size was generous.
The service wasn’t that good. Took a long time for the açaí bowl, which I didn’t mind but seemed like the guy was having issues with the frozen açaí not being melted enough to use in the blender. Overall, he just didn’t seem that pleasant nor happy to be at work. I felt I was bothering him by ordering and disrupting his conversation with his coworker.
Wi-Fi worked well, even in the outdoor patio area which was a plus. Not sure if I’ll visit again, the café I wanted to visit is closed on Tuesdays and I felt this place was overpriced for the...
Read moreThis café has a positive presence in our neighborhood. The staff is friendly, and they truly put in the effort to make anyone’s experience worthwhile. The regular lattes, cappuccinos and ginger teas are an instant hit! I love how they freshly juice ginger to make the tea, while other spots will charge $3+ for a not-so-strong tea bag. The bagels are super good, the baked goods can be somewhat limited but it could be since I go later in the day. They can get somewhat busy during the afternoon/weekends (management should consider adding an extra hand, at least when it’s busier), but I like that they’re one of the few cafés open until the evening hours. The menu is massive, and I think they could benefit from making their menu a bit smaller to make it easier for the staff, and it reduces the likelihood of running out of a particular drink, similar to Variety Coffee which is also in the area. Overall, the café does deliver and it is a great place to get work done when it’s not super busy. Oh, and WiFi is decent, hence why so many people end up staying a...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to trying this place, but the experience was frustrating from the start. While I was ordering in English, the staff member interrupted me to say, “You can speak Spanish if you need,” in a condescending tone. As someone who is bilingual, I found it rude and unnecessary. it felt like she was mocking my accent rather than offering help.
The customer service overall was not welcoming, and unfortunately, the food was just as bad. We ordered two açaí bowls (#1 and the Classic). The #1 tasted like spoiled yogurt and made my partner feel sick. The Classic bowl was almost black, watery, full of ice cubes, and had no flavor at all. Both were unpleasant to eat and far from the quality you’d expect for the price.
There was no manager or owner available to speak with, so we left disappointed. We won’t...
