Il Leone — Restaurant in New York

Literally just opened, went on their first official Friday, last night. They were having to turn people away left and right as this neighborhood (and even NYC in general) has been waiting for Il Leone. It did not disappoint, even with it being only day 2. Fermented dough, top notch, the temperature that pizza is cooked at, easily must be 900 degrees as the char on the crust is amazing. Vegan option for those like my wife. BEST pizza I've had in years. the ingredients are so fresh, all sourced from Italy or local farmers markets. loved the signature crust. will be back over and over. the meatballs are SO good. the atmosphere is welcoming/cozy for anyone - families, girls night, date night. this is the new regular spot. gorgeous wine selection too. can't wait to dine outdoors in beautiful backyard patio when the weather is warm again...

This is a great spot for a date or to catch up with a BFF - it’s intimate and cozy, with great drink options and truly outstanding food. I have not stopped thinking about the Pizza Rossa since I had it - perfect crust, perfect sauce, perfect spicy kick. I need another one...
