Tacos del Barrio — Restaurant in New York

I'd seen this kid pop up a couple of times on my feed and I was indeed skeptical, but they got me. I'll be back. The beans are just salty enough to balance the rice nicely and the meat in both of my quesadillas (steak and al pastor) was excellent in both texture and flavor.

The proprietor himself has mastered the Customer Service attitude -- he kept a smile even when the after work crowd was being obnoxious. There were a lot of people waiting, but he and the crew have a good system going and my food was hot and fresh.

Ok this is a seriously good taco joint. The place looks clean and fresh, with minimal decor, giving a sense of space and welcoming. The staff are super friendly with a smile. More importantly, the food is excellent and not very expensive. Only slightly more than what a food truck charges, but well worth it. You have the choice of a flour or corn tortilla. I grabbed a fish taco and shrimp quesadilla, both on corn tortillas. The fish and shrimp were both battered and breaded, giving it a great texture. Highly recommend...

Just got my food I ordered fish bowl bit into the fried battered fish only to uncover two pieces were shrimp. Their using the same batter for fish and shrimp that look identical and you wont know into you bite into which is crazy. The rice was extremely dry and so were the beans.
