NYC Summer Fun: No Sunburn Required!

My partner and I are in NYC this week and my goal is to visit every Lush shop in this city. Yesterday, we visited Lush on the Upper East Side at 783 Lexington Ave. I was there for the Tangled Hair treatment at the Lush spa. (It was my first Lush spa treatment!) The staff on the sales floor checked me in for my service and showed me the items from the Wicked collab which dropped that day. They were all so friendly and helpful. The Tangled Hair treatment is a rejuvenating Japanese-inspired scalp experience. This treatment costs $60 and lasts 25 minutes. I was greeted by Melissa, one of the therapists, who walked me through the treatment during the consultation. She was amazing from start to finish. We entered the treatment room, which was bathed in soft, blue light. Melissa instructed me to take off my shoes (and anything else I wanted to remove by choice) and make myself comfortable. She left the room while I got comfortable and directed me to ring a bell as soon as I was ready. The music in the room featured a soothing bamboo flute, was created by Lush’s creative music director, something Melissa told me about before the treatment. The relaxation I felt during the treatment was next level! Melissa expertly released all the tension in my head, face, neck and shoulders, hitting every pressure point perfectly. The massage was so calming that I could’ve fallen asleep. …That is, until the cold stones were introduced at the end of the treatment. This was so refreshing and actually helped kick the migraine I walked in with. I left the spa feeling de-stressed, renewed and energized, as if I’d just woken up from a power nap. I loved the Tangled Hair treatment and would recommend it to anyone.

Let's get the normal stuff out of the way. Great location. Clean, organized, and accessible. Products are easy to find and well stationed. Now the reason for 5⭐s. The employees here are the gem of this location. Everyone was so helpful, fun, and knowledgeable. Anija (I hope I spelled that right) was especially fantastic! One of the absolute best Lush employees I've met. She easily led the conversation while I tested some of the new TMNT products (I'll admit she sold me on a few). Then she guided us on a tour of the Lush SPA faculties while explaining the features of benefits of each service, as well as other fun tidbits of trivia about the spa space. If I was a local I would be coming back here on the regular.

I was here tonight and I feel compelled to write a review bc my experience here made my day ! This was my first pandemic non-essential/non-urgent shopping experience so I wasn't sure what to expect. I came to the store not knowing that I couldn't shop inside because of the pandemic, there is a counter at the entrance door where you ask the employees for the products you want. This "new normal" isn't that easy when you don't already know what you want, when shopping for skincare since youd normally wanna roam around and sniff things and touch things, but the 2 women who helped me made it work well ! I forgot to ask their names but they deserve the good review ! Even though I arrived close to closing time, they helped retrieve many products for me to look at and buy, and patiently explained product info since I couldn't just pick things up myself to read them like we normally do, and they didn't make me feel rushed at all. They were generous with samples, and after a stressful week all I wanna do now is treat myself to all the products I just brought home ! Yay ! My one suggestion is that i wish they had a list of every product the store sells with info and prices for you to read since you can't walk around the store to look yourself right now, (maybe a handout, or large sign like a "menu") I might have wanted to buy other items but I didn't really know specifically what I was looking for since I didn't really "need" anything and I was in the mood to impulse buy šŸ˜‚ I would definitely like...

Wow, I had such a blast in the store yesterday! The staff is so fun and nice and I love that they have the products on display so you can see the texture of the ingredients. Rosie the staff member who helped me was so nice! She went above and beyond to discuss various products. So recommended the bubble bath wand and I got it and can't wait to try it. A good friend of mine likes these because they are reusable. Also I love Creme de Menthe mouthwash tabs! They're so pretty (they remind me of Wicked) and so practical. I would've never thought to purchase this product and now I will never go back to regular mouthwash. I've gotten Lush bathbombs as gifts for my niece and nephew and they love them. All the of the ingredients are healthy and natural. About a month ago, I went to a workshop at the Lush Spa and we all made Let The Good Times Roll turmeric face scrub. It was literally such a fun event and it was cool to see that all natural ingredients go into the products. Rosie, you made my day! It was such a blast shopping in Lush yesterday and I will definitely be back! The Sleepy soap is amazing!!

I came back the next day to do the Wicked bath experience. It was otherwordly! One of the most incredible experiences I've had in my entire life. A best kept secret in NYC. Every detail was so relaxing and heavenly. Thank you Juliari! Loved it, and the drink after was so fun...
