JADE — Restaurant in New York

Been there before, but today was special: I was coming back from a grocery haul and the roll up door was open for deliveries. I thought it was just open, so I went inside, being a rare day off and it being new years I wanted to have a drink during my afternoon before organizing my kitchen.

Jade (the owner) served me a beer and we had a brief conversation while they were prepping for New Year’s Eve. They weren’t open technically, but had a lovely time there, and just having a drink was great. After I finished my beer, I was kicked out so Jade could finish prep, but it was a nice time to decompress with the last few hours of my winter vacation on a quiet day.

Liked going in the few other times I’ve been, but this experience made me write this review. I wouldn’t expect this every time you go in, much of this was a surprise to me (didn’t realize they weren’t open when I went in, and didn’t know I was having a conversation with the owner until I was done), but this is a great jem off the myrtle-Broadway stop.

First time at Bar Jade, And First impressions are this place reeks with the best vibes. The owners and staff are remarkable in the way they treat their customers as they would a family member. The place has an excellent decor and their always trying to make it even better by adding and subtracting to give the place that added charm. My favorite bar ever! Came here in 2022 after a horrible breakup and was welcomed with warm arms by the staff. They wiped my tears and gave me a delicious turmeric drink that’s no longer on the menu ( :( ) I saw a DJ play here I think the name was bodega something maybe Bodegaparty. Wow they were amazing and better than any DJ I had ever seen. They should book that DJ again and give bodega whatever their asking price is. I would kill to see bodega play there again.
