I really wanted to like this restaurant, because I have eaten in so many vegan and non vegan Mexican restaurants.
We have eaten in hole in the walls and the taste was spectacular.
But where should I begin? Food was not good at all. It felt like someone was trying to cook for the first time. No flavors even if there were different ingredients in them.
This food was some of the worst food I have ever had in my life. Mexican food with the simplest ingredients have so much flavor and this didn’t. I really don’t understand these reviews?!
Here is all we had to eat:
Tres Amigas: chips stale, had maybe 1 tablespoon of guac, cheese dip watered down and the pepita hummus was the worst taste you could ever have.
Enchilada Mole: rice was old and no flavor, dry and cold. Enchiladas itself had so much mole on top that the pollo filling had no flavor inside and the taco shells were so chewy that we didn’t even eat. Had to take that “mole” off to try and eat it. But still didn’t make a difference, the TASTE was not good.
Jackfruit Carnitas: looked promising, but again it was so flavorless. The jackfruit was from a can, because that’s how it tastes when you open it up. And again the tacos were so chewy and hard.
Huitlacoche: maybe one mushroom in it. Again how can you have these different ingredients and not have any flavor???
Both the salsas for the tacos were not made fresh.
Someone that knows food will know what I am talking about.
It says on the menu two of the same tacos and add a 3 for +5.
So how did the waiter not understand that I asked him and told him, just one extra. But we got two plates instead and got charged for the full amount.
That guy was too busy having a frown.
You work with people, have always a smile, no matter how your day has been or don’t go in front of people at all.
The rest of the guys that brought the food and water were great.
To sum it all up, I was throwing up all night long after this food.
To the restaurant owner: Do yourself a favor and check on your cooks and get rid of that Pepita...

🌟 Service: Exceptional! The staff was warm, professional, and genuinely helpful. They accommodated a custom drink request with no fuss and checked on us regularly. You can tell they care about your experience. Friendly faces, good vibes, and total pros.
🌟 Drinks: The Pineapple y Mezcal was a stunner—fresh, vibrant, and the perfect summer cocktail. I also sampled the Strawberry Margarita, which totally surprised me. Most are syrupy-sweet, but this one was balanced, refreshing, and honestly made me want to order one for myself.
🌟 Food: Holy flavor explosion. The food is mind-blowingly good. If I didn’t already know it was vegan, I never would’ve guessed. The chefs here are on another level—this is plant-based cuisine that deserves awards. MUST order: Chimichanga de Birria—I can’t even describe how ridiculously delicious it is. Just trust me. So good it should be illegal. 🤤🤤🤤
🌟 Overall: This spot is a full-on vibe. Delicious food, stellar drinks, great service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay all night…or at least for awhile and then you’ll leave because you’re just taking up space! 😅 5/5. This place is Unbutton-your-jeans good. Just GO. You’ll...
Read moreJajaja serves a genre of food that is out of my typical repertoire of food. I was pleasantly surprised by how booked up this place was, so I made a reservation in advance. When I arrived at Jajaja at 7:30 p.m. on a Thursday, the seating inside and outside were already brimming. I thought that the outdoor dining area was very cute, it was decorated with lights and plants. I was seated in the back patio area, so had to walk through the inside of the restaurant to get there. It was quieter in the back. My party got the nachos with guacamole to share. It was served in a very big portion and we could not finish it amongst the three of us. The guac was fresh, and the dish itself packed a punch. For my main dish, I got the Verde enchiladas, which I was only able to finish half of, because I had eaten so much of the nachos. The interior of the enchiladas was made of jackfruit. My prior experiences of eating jackfruit in a savory meal was not pleasant, so I was a bit skeptical before my first bite. This dish proved to me that jackfruit can actually taste quite good when cooked well and seasoned well. There was a soft texture and the jackfruit almost pulled apart like pork. I was also pleasantly surprised by the side of rice that came with the dish. The rice itself was cooked to the drier side, but because of that it carried a bit of added fragrance of rice that is almost semi burnt. The bill ended up being very reasonable, and I look forward to visiting again to try out some...
