I walk by this place all the time, it always looked nice enough but as you people know there's like 10 billion restaurants in this city so one has to pass most of them over, luckily my father picked it out or I might've gone on in ignorance forever. We started strong with a nautical themed interior- now I don't know Jeffrey nor do I know why he's pretending this is a grocery store, but I assume the boat theme is somehow related to the PHENOMENAL seafood selection. I've had many a prawn cocktail in my life, having been strongly influenced by the one Bob had in 'The Incredibles'. If I see one I order it and this was the best one I've ever had. Those shrimps were doing their thing, lightly seasoned by the genius chefs of this fine establishment, just a beautiful thing truly, for for a damn king. My father was equally complimentary toward the oyster selection and he's a very particular man.
The excellence continued, our waiter Chase (delightful gentleman) brought out course number two, which was a jazzy little apple blue cheese salad, it was excellent of course, always happy to see salads paid the respect they deserve. Next was green curry mussels and swordfish, both 10000/10, five stars, no notes, fantastic. It's a great menu. All their dishes are so nuanced, clever, well constructed, and complete. Yknow how on top chef they're always whining about this needs ACID and that needs TEXTURE well Jeffrey and his clan have thought of everything, I never felt I was missing a thing. I was delighted to learn this extended to the dessert menu- when I tell you my corn pudding nearly brought me to tears- with the sweet potato spread on top?? And the ricotta panna cotta, I have never liked panna cotta in all my life but this was the best one I've ever had and it may have converted me. Also we got cookies because we're insane and of course they were great, cashew caramel and coconut served WARM I hate when hot food isn’t hot enough but everything was served at the absolute correct temperature. Anyway before I write a whole novel here- this was the best meal I've had in awhile and this place is absolutely worth your time and attention and reservation-making ability. I think they serve more than just dinner here, so my advice claim a chair and move in, cover all 3 meals. What you will lose financially pales in comparison to the gain of pure joy, nautical whimsy, kind, caring waiters, and some...
Read moreI wish I had a more favorable experience. I've passed by this place probably a few hundred times if not over a thousand on my way to work or home. The aroma and people enjoying their time always peeked my interest. So, yesterday I finally went in for a late lunch. I was seated promptly and began enjoying the beautiful interiors. Then came the ordering part. 🤦🏻♀️ As I was asking the waiter a question they walked away. I was confused. This happened multiple times. They are friendly for a second and just walk away as I am speaking/asking a question. I almost left but decided to try my luck with food. The sandwich had poorly paired ingredients. It felt old. Then I was told the sandwich isn't actually freshly made and it made sense why it tasted off. Like yesterday's spicy leftovers. Asking for the check was another experience in patience. That too was met with a dismissive waiter basically being too important to care. It's not even that it took that long, it's the "why are you bothering me with your asks when I am doing you the favor of even looking at you" air that was 🤢. Plus the yesterday's (or who knows when it was actually made) sandwich didn't help. If this wasn't where it is, I doubt it would have...
Read moreThe blonde hostess with bangs was so rude AND unhelpful. Came in today around 5:50pm today to asked the lady at the hostess desk if I could purchase a coke. I’ve come in before and purchased soft drinks before not a problem. I’ve also come and dined in before and it was amazing. Especially since I work at the store right across the street. Came in today and asked, then I was responded with “the drinks we have are for the restaurant, if it’s not a problem , you can just go to cvs.” Then I replied with, “I’ve come in before, I work right across the street. I usually do purchase the soft drinks here”, “was responded with an immediate, “again, if there’s a problem, then you can go to cvs.” I have never been so dismissed from a place so fast, and the fact that I work nearby makes it worst. If that was the problem in the FIRST PLACE, I wouldn’t even have come. To be clear, it was because of my last experience that made me come back. I will never be coming back because of that ONE worker. She needs to be retrained and ask questions because she was not one bit understanding. I come by here because it is convenient and a quick stop to get a Coke by my work. Not to...
