It is so annoying.
Please do not order any food from Koko Wings by the delivery app. I would like to share my experience. Nothing was delivered, and no refund was issued. I will not order food from here in the future.
I ordered chicken around 11:45 PM, and it was not delivered. I called the merchant (the store) more than 10 times, but they never responded or resolved the issue. I also contacted Uber Eats customer service to share my experience, but no one provided a solution. Instead, they kept saying there was nothing they could do at the moment. How ludicrous. It is totally absurd—nothing was delivered, yet customer service could do nothing?
Why do you even exist? And on top of that, an order placed at 11:45 PM arriving at 2:50 AM? Do you think this is normal? Not at all—no one expects this when they order food. This is completely unreasonable and unacceptable; in fact, it was never even delivered.
I know Ubereats is experiencing significant cash flow issues due to excessive coupon and gift card discounts on Amazon, but the burden of your financial struggles should not be passed on to customer service and customer experience.
PS: This comment should be remained until Koko Wings or UberEats issues a refund. As we all know, Koko Wings close early, and you all can see when it was delivered at 2:55 a.m.
Added on Feb 16, 2025, 4:10 pm: I was able to speak with the owner of Koko Wings, and she provided the same food that I ordered yesterday at 11:50 pm. She sincerely apologized to me, explaining that technical issues with the delivery person were out of her control. She assured me that she would handle any non-delivery or delayed delivery issues promptly. I will keep this review for the public's interest and to protect potential customers from experiencing negative experiences with the delivery app. I will change my review from one star to four stars. The reason is that the owner's attitude and service at Koko Wings were wonderful, but the service from Uber was unsuccessful. I will maintain 4 stars even though the food is delicious because I was starving at 4 am due to undelivered food. Even though UberEats said they understood my circumstances, they essentially did nothing and kept repeating that this was not a case that could be refunded, which was a ludicrous experience.
TL;DR: Food was amazing, but I will keep this at four stars due to the bad experience with the...
Read moreThis used to be the best KFC north of 96th. Not sure what’s happened in the last 3 years but it’s fallen hard. For me.
Dumplings are still good, though. Flavor & consistency is on point. A must.
Their pancakes are inconsistent. But when they’re on…it’s really good.
But the wings….smh. They’re not bad , they’re just not as good as they used to be. These used to be on Bon Chon level. Not anymore. They’re battered (with flour?) now- not Bon Chon like. It’s inconsistent and average now, at best, and for the price, it’s no longer worth it. It’s saddens me because this was my go-to for two years. Sigh.
The worst thing is the service. The older lady (owner ?) who typically is at the register, besides being rude (which I used to excuse as cultural) is flat out prejudice. I’m not saying she only likes white people, but she couldn’t be bothered if you’re not. Dining here when she’s working is an exercise in composure. Her indifference to you as a human is glaringly so obvious, even a blind man can see it. I’ve been trying to think maybe she’s just having a bad day, but after several experiences with her, this is how she is…and I’m done with her and this establishment.
Sometimes, when the food is so good, I’ve excused average to poor service as the tax one pays for a popular place. That doesn’t apply here, it’s a neighborhood spot that should try harder for the people in the neighborhood. Especially, since it’s typically always empty and we have options.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 7 times - I’ve got issues and should seek therapy. Oh, well. All good things must come to an end....
Read moreIt use to be so much better. Small neighborhood Koren restaurant with a decent menu. Over the years as the restaurant has renovated and their menu has expanded, unfortunately, their food—taste and quality—has gotten worse. I think the intention and focus is to serve really young diners (teens on dates) and the Columbia Community—the rest of us can eat elsewhere. The prices aren't that affordable, service is spotty, but it's a place to sit and get something quick. They'll also give you a 10% discount for settling with cash.
My advice, have patience when you order; be prepared to repeat everything you say at least 3 times. Stick to the menu, no extra anything, no deviations or substitutions—you won't get it even if they take your requests upon ordering. We stopped doing delivery years ago (it seemed to take years to have your food delivered) and only do takeout now. Also, if you order through Seemless, call the restaurant to confirm your order and delivery time about 5 min after placing your order. We do better calling and ordering directly. Cross your fingers that you got the best chef on his/her best day!
Update: well, I can say the pandemic has affected the quality of the food at KoKo Wings. Guess what, they have gotten even worse. GET YOUR RECEIPT they will deny that it's their food if you don't...
