La Baguette Shop — Restaurant in New York

I made an order of four dozen patte (2 fish, 1 spinach, 1 chicken) a few days prior to my book event happening tonight, and when I went to go pick it up this afternoon, they said they didn't have any spinach "in the whole store."

The worker told me someone working the previous shift was supposed to call me this morning to let me know. But no one called. I traveled over an hour to pick up my order for a same day event that will be happening just hours later in the evening.

They offered to refund me for the dozen spinach (which I hoped to have because of event attendee preference and in case there were any vegetarians who attended). I initially was going to accept but then I just asked them to replace it with an additional chicken since they offered that option of me getting different pattes. My plan at that point, was that I would apologize to any vegetarian attendees who couldn't partake because of dietary restrictions.

When I asked them if they could give me some sort of discount for the trouble, they said no. Disappointed, I told them that I traveled from far and this experience makes me feel a lack of trust to patron them for a large order again in the future. Just as an honest informational note. While they did apologize when they told me there was no spinach initially, the lack of trust comment didn't seem to phase them.

As a first time author and a Haitian American, I was excited to recommend them and post about them positively on social media for other authors who might use their services for a large order. But this is no longer my plan.

I paid for something I didn't get. All items were listed in the receipt, and when I walked in to ask about them at pickup, it was as if they didn't expect me. One the workers in particular seemed surprised to seemingly learn about the pickup. So it definitely gave disorganized. If they had called me this morning, maybe I could have arranged to get spinach patte somewhere else. But they robbed me of that opportunity.

Yes, the patties taste good. So I say, only go here for a small order and be wary of trusting them with a large order because they may have organization/communication issues amongst their staff. If you have an important event, I really wouldn't trust it. I wanted the food fresh for same day, so that's why I didn't pick them up...

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!!!!! I typically don’t write reviews, but I’m so disturbed by the customer service, I received. I wanted to get some patties for my mother, and so I called the store twice to inquire about the store hours. I was told twice that the location closed at 8pm. I came to place an order around 7:45pm and the doors were already locked. (If they were going to close early I would have preferred them to tell me that when I spoke to them on the phone )They let me in because I just wanted to only place an order for pick up the next morning. The lady at the register was so rude. She rushed me during the whole entire process, rolled her eyes and was speaking to me in a rude tone and her body language was unprofessional. She also didn’t know I was a Haitian American, who understands and speaks creole so she cursed me out to the other guy that was there and she called me a “monkey” in creole which is a very degrading term in the Haitian language. I treated the woman with respect despite the fact that she was so rude. And to be a paying customer treated with disrespect in return was unacceptable. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS LOCATION EVER AGAIN. Omg!! What a service!.The lady at the counter was very nice.i was referred to that place. When i got there there was a line of people waiting to be served. As i waited, i'm looking around to see what they have so i can buy. Once i got to the cashier, i asked if I can have the$12 box with different patties. She said yes and asked how i want it ( herring,beef chicken, or salty fish). I told her to surprise since it was my first time there. She gave me different patties & 2 , some chocolate drink & 2 breads. I should have taken more breads now that i think about it b/c they we're so good those breads. Seller & place recommended.
