Having now visited this bakery twice, I felt compelled to share my consistently delightful experiences. My first visit was unplanned; needing St. Joseph's pastries on short notice near my workplace. What I came back to the office with were quality pastries – without hyperbole, the absolute best I have ever tasted, setting a new standard for me. For Easter, I decided to purchase their grain pie, an anticipation heightened by my previous positive experience with their St. Joseph's pastries. I am pleased to report that it not only met but exceeded my expectations. As someone with a weirdly strong appreciation for a good grain pie (and who already has a go to bakery in Brooklyn), I took a chance switching it up and picking up this year’s Easter dessert elsewhere. I was genuinely impressed. The texture was so creamy, and the sweetness was expertly balanced, complemented by a generous distribution of flavorful candied fruit. It surpassed my long-standing favorite. My family echoed my sentiments, unanimously declaring it the best grain pie we’ve had ever had. La Bella Ferrara is two for two at this point. Given the consistent excellence of their offerings, from the unforgettable St. Joseph's pastries to the outstanding grain pie, this bakery has undoubtedly and quickly earned my loyalty. I fully intend to return for all my upcoming holiday treats, and I'm sure a few personal indulgences will find their way back home with me as well. This has become my new go-to bakery.

Read moreI've never seen staff so rude and unprofessional in my whole life only because I disagreed on the $10.00 policy when paying by credit card. While I can't dispute the policy in itself, I'm certainly disputing the rudeness and lack of professional skills in both the owner, a woman with glasses, and the other two women, an Hispanic woman to be correct. I come from a place, London, where a customer is highly regarded. It's such a shame I had to go through this experience in a great and beautiful city such as New York City. Despite having told the Hispanic woman not to take it personal because I disagreed on the $10.00 policy, the woman got very aggressive and rude and she even said goodbye to me by threateningly staring at me as she still wanted me to fight and argue with her. I never went to a shop and saw staff so arrogant and rude. The owner even admitted she doesn't want to take payments by card because she doesn't want to pay the New York tax. Teaspoons were also non-existent and only straws were given to replace them. Even though pastry may not be that bad, I will never set my foot in that bakery again and give a cent ever again. I would advise people to be careful not to go against those women because they're very aggressive and rude....
Read moreLa Belle Ferrera is an Italian bakery that is located on Mulberry Street in Little Italy, NYC.
La Belle Ferrera is an old neighborhood type of bakery, and they happen to be my favorite bakery in NYC.
The Rainbow Cookies are so moist and delicious with flavor that i really really enjoy them everytime i get them.
The 2nd item that is out of this world is their Lobster Roll, which is a Wiped Cream filled Cream Puff. The pastry shell is always crisp but soft to the bite, and the whipped cream is so fresh it is like eating whip cream you just made.
The staff is wonderful with their service, and they help advise you as to what amount of pastry you would need or want. They always have nice pleasant things for conversations while they are tending to your needs, and they always have a smile for me.
They are professionals who keep in mind what the NYC Health Codes are with regards to cleanliness. They are always with glovee on when they are handling your pastries. They shop is neat, clean, tidy and orderly all the time.
