Pros: Called at 2pm on a Saturday for 4pm that same day and they fit me in no problem. $78 for 60 minutes full body massage and 30 minutes reflexology (small discount for paying with cash) Clean Nice staff No frills but nice enough ambiance Very strong massage therapist if that’s what you’re looking for Comfortable massage tables and chairs
Cons: The reflexology was okay but not enough time was spent on the areas that were most tense I told the masseuse (a nice man named Hunter) where I had the most tension for the full body massage and it felt like he spent most of the 60 minutes on that and randomly on one spot on my back Had to ask him to use lotion…I’ve had lots of massages and never once had to request lotion or oil… Too much elbow work and he didn’t turn me over onto my back at all to massage my front Can hear everything in the other rooms No one asked if I had a preference for male or female, how much pressure I wanted, etc Way too much time was spent massaging over the towel
I did speak up a few times ie asking for lotion and to ask for less pressure but it didn’t really make the experience better.
Overall, I was excited to come here as it was recommended to me and I was disappointed by my experience. I came in hoping for a relaxing and therapeutic massage but this was not that, so I’m a little frustrated, even with the pros of the spot. The reflexology was definitely more relaxing than the massage, and I would consider going back but with a...

I was recommended this place by a colleague. I arrived at 6:30pm. Apparently they close at 7, so they asked me to pay up front. I did, and added a 15% tip, massage unseen.
As someone who used to live and work in Shanghai, the massage was decent, but as I left, the masseuse ended up behind me on the stairs. His choice words? “You only tipped me $4!”
Three issues: First, it was 15%. Second, they made me pay upfront so I couldn’t change it anyway. Third, who confronts a customer and gets upset for not tipping what HE thinks he is worth?
In China, tipping is basically forbidden. If you try, you are usually rebuffed. Same in Europe, where a tip is not obligated and is a true show of excellence. How sadly Americanized and entitled everyone has become here stateside. Demanding a tip, and of a certain amount? Very off putting.
I am sad I won’t be returning to Fishion because otherwise it was a great massage. But they ruined the entire experience on the stairs by insulting my tip. The truth: he didn’t even deserve the $4.
I will give the staff of Fishion a big tip here: never assume the financial situation of any clients. I just moved back to NY from Florida a week ago and haven’t even seen a paycheck. Had this guy been a bit more gracious, I would have returned weekly, and provided a bigger tip next time. But he never gave me the chance.

Read moreI've been coming here for two years. I appreciate the services they provide and understand that you needn't have an appointment to be seen which makes it convenient for the average new yorker or taking someone on the fly. However, what i dislike is mandatory tipping! The issue i have with this is if i didn't like a massage which only happened once, i will not tip a person. I am kind hearted and tipped anyway because i would feel bad otherwise. On top of this they sort of expect it even if they were not providing the best massage because they stand near you waiting for it and you cannot "just charge it to my card" you need to physically hand them the money. In addition its almost kind of a guilt trip in what they do because the person who massages you waits then you pay then they offer you "free tea" then as you're about to leave they isolate you by saying " oh what about your tip, and they actually stop whatever everyone is doing to make sure to look at you if you dont tip. which would not make me want to come back here. The only reason i return is due to my previous experience here and my friend Mei's...
