This is really cute spot in the upper East side with such a welcoming energy. The staff and chef and owners were very friendly and take pride and have passion in their cusine and restaurant. It was really good to see that.
Their menu highlights tastes of Israeli, Moroccan, Lebanese cuisine infused with flavors from Provence, France.
This was our line up;
Lashevet Salad salatine summer greens with kale, bulgur, and crispy onions. Really good salad. Generous portion
Bissara Soup with dried fava beans, cumin, smoked paprika, and olive oil. Tasted good. Personaly world have preferred some layering in the soup. Maybe some lentils or pieces of meat or bread.
Lamb Meatballs Skillet with cherry tomato sauce, saffron, and green peas. M. The folks next to me finished the dish. Dish looked great. I would have preferred less tomatoes.Presentation was great.
Mehayam goat cheese-crusted bakkafrost salmon with pepper coulis,beet hummusand tahini cauliflower. This dish was outstanding! my favorite . The layering of flavors. Im not a slamon fan but this was really good. The cauliflower was wow. The beet hummus and pepper coulis gave it great layering!
Basbousa Cake was the owners wedding cake coconut yogurt semolina cake with soft cheese. Its a NY cheese cake and and Israeli cheescake fusion..i loved it as it wasnt too sweet. I also like semolina.
I will definitely go.back again.
The below was shared by the restaurant while at dinner.
When translated from Hebrew, the word "Lashevet has two meanings: "Lashevet" is "To Sit / To Settle" - The Lashevet Team is proud To Settle their restaurant in the Upper East Side and invites their Patrons To Sit and enjoy family-style hospitality and share Lashevet's take on the authentic Middle Eastern cuisine
"La" means "To" and "Shevet" means "Tribe" - The Lashevet Team dedicates this restaurant to The Tribe of Neighbors, Friends, and Guests...
Read moreCame in late for coffee and was told they were closing for the night. Completely understandable and i asked if i could use the restroom before i left to find somewhere i could get coffee and the staff said yes. Not even five minutes later a drunk and belligerent customer was slamming on the bathroom door. When i came out he was threatening me violently. Do a better job making sure your customers aren’t a danger to anyone else in the restaurant next time. Completely irresponsible environment to allow someone that intoxicated to be on the premises like that and this is coming from someone who was a bar tender for 10+ years
Edit: And yes the customer forcefully pushed the door on me as i was leaving the bathroom and specifically asked if i wanted to “step outside” after causing a scene and the woman (who i assume is the owner responding to this) not only did not do anything to help deescalate the inebriated customer, she instead has the gall to suggest, after offering to pay for coffee, that i am lying? What kind of establishment are you running? Why are you brushing off the fact that you willingly allowed an unruly and intoxicated customer to threaten someone in your restaurant? A few members of the staff even came outside with me and apologized saying “I’m sorry. They’ve had a...
Read moreThis place is listed on Grubhub. I placed an order which was canceled because "the restaurant has stopped accepting orders." I did however, get a credit from Grubhub. My wife then used their website for the order. Here are the results: This was a $27 food order. Service fee $2.70 + Delivery fee $3.99 + Tip $4.00= Grand total $10.69. Let's not forget Tax $2.70. So for non-food $13.39. The non-food part came to just about 50%. The place is a total rip-off. Do not order from their website. Unless you like throwing money away. One * rating is too high. It should be 0 star. I just received the owners response to my comments which you can read below. The fact is that right now my Master Card shows a charge of $40 which I will get removed via a chargeback. The owner claims ignorance the the charges that I posted. Where did they come from? Here is a cut and paste from an email sent to me "Your Order Jul 5, 2022 | Order # b7db8f5f 1x Falafel Pita Sandwich (To Eat ) $12.00 1x Mezze Plate With Sesame Ka'ak Bread (To Eat ) $15.00 Subtotal $27.00 Taxes $2.40 Delivery Fee $3.99 Service Fee $2.70 Tip $4.00 Total Charged $40.09 In conclusion, let's have that cup of coffee where you can give...
