Lazy Suzy Cafe & Shop — Restaurant in New York

I absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is lovely and clean, great for working or reading, and the drinks are always perfect. This is the ONLY place nearby I will get a matcha latte from- usually they’re too weak but they always get it right here. Plus there are fun syrups to add like rose and lavender. If you like flavored lattes ask about the Cozy Suzy, you won’t be disappointed.

Lastly the service is the best part! Literally everyone who works there is so kind and welcoming. James especially is always there with a smile on his face- just an utterly sweet person and instantly brightens my day to stop by and say hello! I truly look forward to coming here for my drink AND for the little boost of happiness from a chit chat with everyone here. I always leave happier!

I’m sorry to be that person, but i have to say it: this place is not good. I came three times and got three different drinks:

Latte- i got a latte, and it was quite sour. This probably means the grind on the espresso beans was wrong, making it taste weird. Matcha- i got an unsweetened matcha here, and it was also not good. I think the matcha was low quality, making it taste quite bad without sweetener. Drip- this is the worst offender- pleaaassee remake your drip coffee is every 4 hours or so!! If you dont, it gets old and tastes funky. Very simple fix, big difference.

A lot of these things are not noticeable on sweet drinks. Please have your baristas try the drinks throughout the day to adjust the espresso grind and to remake the drip coffee.

Some of the staff is very mean and indifferent. They made me a drip coffee that was so hot I can barely hold the cup. A female staff suggested to give another two cups as cushion but the male staff merely shrugged it off, saying it’s already double cupped so it should be good. Excuse me? Why don’t you try holding the cup for two seconds and see it for yourself? Or is your skin so thick you can’t feel the temperature?

Fine, I decided to take the coffee to the side counter to put on the lid and some loose cup sleeves, but it was burning hot, I ended up spilling some coffee on my hands and on the counter. Nobody cared if I had burned. I even wiped the coffee off the counter myself. I will never come to...
