Need to share the story of my experience since the owner yelled and didn’t let me finish.

Not local to this neighborhood but been in the city for years. came and drop pet for surgery in the morning and thought to grab a bagel here for breakfast. Ordered 2 bagels and realized it’s cash only and I tried to find the order taker but he’s gone. Told another staff we want to cancel one bagel bc cash I have is only enough for buy one. The staff seems understood and went back to the kitchen. Now the owner came and I just wanted to PAY for the bagel, so said ā€œ Hi, I…(pay) . ā€œ and he interrupted : you’ve ordered .ā€ That was fine until the first order taker came with 2 bagels. Tried to explain the situation I don’t have enough cash and have told another lady to only make 1 bagel. The lady came over with another bagel. Oh fun! Now I have 3 bagels and the owner raised his voice said: ā€œ why you try to keep ordering?ā€ He acted like I was a dumb, although every time I tried to say something the intention was good, either the order taker didn’t understand or communicated well or the owner didn’t even listen to me to finish my sentence.

I’m not dumb, not trying to take extra bagels. And after the pet surgery we came back same afternoon, drove all the way from Queens with cash to pay the remaining.

Bagel was good but it didn’t taste good as I felt my Thursday morning couldn’t be worse being treated like a dumb customer.

I need to tell the whole story out because I didn’t nothing wrong and the owner owns me a APOLOGY. If want to avoid this make a sign on the door says Cash only, and be nice and let your customers finish what they want to say. Train your order takers how to better communicate.

Been in New York for years, have expectation of how rude people are. But for small business in such a pretty neighborhood, you should learn how to communicate before doing business.

sort by lowest you may see the some true customers service...

I tried Court Street Bagels because it is one of the higher reviewed bagel spots in the area.

There are many bagel options presented to you, along with an array of cream cheeses.

What stuck out to me was that the blueberry bagel was neon blue, which made me nervous. I ordered the cinnamon raisin bagel instead.

There are many types of savory cream cheeses and some sweet cream cheese selections. I was intrigued by the truffle mushroom cream cheese, the nutella cream cheese, and the matcha cream cheese. The matcha cream cheese was not green at all, so I did not order it even though I love matcha. It’s $6.50 for a bagel with cream cheese—kind of pricey compared to other bagel places I frequent—so I did not want to take the chance on the matcha cream cheese being flavorless, which it very much looks like it is. I would honestly be willing to pay the price or even a bit more for a decent matcha cream cheese. That sounds like it could be delicious if executed correctly.

I ordered the blueberry cream cheese because it doesn’t look like it has food dye in it. It has full blueberries in it as well.

My bagel came out quickly and the service was great. It was warm and the cream cheese was melty on the inside. What I immediately noticed was that there was not a ton of cream cheese in there, but it was acceptable.

I liked that the bagel was not over toasted. It was chewy and flavorful, though at some points a little difficult to bite through. Overall, the texture was pretty good. I love a firm crust and chewy center/consistency. The blueberry cream cheese was also good and the went nice with the cinnamon raisin.

If I were to return, I would probably try a more savory bagel. Either an everything bagel or pumpernickel bagel with the truffle mushroom cream cheese. We will see!

Visited this shop today and I didn’t know it was cash only until time of payment šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«. There’s an ATM machine inside but my card decided to act up for this very day of all days. I was nervous because of the long line behind me so I told the girl staff to help the gentleman right behind me first while I run to another ATM place 2 street away to fetch some cash. The gentleman, clearly recognized how nervous I was, offered to pay for me. I told him to please not do so and would only accept his kindness if he would let me pay in back and asked his wife to keep themselves in the shop for a bit. Long story short, I came back with cash in about 5 mins. But they’ve already gone:(( greatly appreciate that one stranger’s act of kindness though I recommend the shop itself to put more signs about cash only type of payment at the front. Be aggressive with the sign!! Food itself was good, though I’m sure it tastes much better than normal for me because of that kindhearted gentleman. Sir, if you came by my review, please know that I appreciate your help so so much and I’ll keep...

What can I say…it came recommended by a local and was full of Brooklyn locals. Counter staff were attentive and efficient. Bagels were brilliant!

The bagels alone are 5 star bagels. Dense and soft, slightly chewy but in a good way, and fresh. I had the salt bagel with garlic and cheddar spread and loved it. My boyfriend had ham, egg and cheese on an everything bagel and it was also really good (tried the bagel and it was just as good as the salt bagel, density-wise). The service, also 5 stars. One of the guys working there knew the regulars by name and I think that shows a lot about a place, that they care enough to remember you and get to know you. Everyone working made sure no one was forgotten about and made sure to take your order and get it out to you, quick. Unfortunately, prices are steep. A salt bagel with garlic and cheddar cream cheese and ham, egg and cheese on an everything bagel, $10. Also, note, it's cash only.
