I had a chanel handbag valuation appointment at 11 am. I called to let them know I was running late, but apparently they do not answer their phones. So I texted them, and I received the response “kk”. I arrived at 11:40 am. I was “greeted” by an exceptionally snippy man named Phil, who advised me that they would not be able to take me because I arrived late. I explained to him that I tried to call the store with no answer so I texted. I took the “kk” text response to mean that it was fine that I was running late. He said their phones are often down, and there was nothing he could do for me because they were expecting another valuation appt at 12 pm. I asked him if we could just start the valuation process since we had 20 minutes to 12, and if the 12 pm appt came in, I would gladly pack up and leave even if we were not finished. He said no because there “simply wouldn’t be enough time”. We back and forth for a couple more time-wasting minutes. (Honestly, I couldn’t believe how rude he was. Super uncomfortable.) I stood around for 15 minutes just in case the 12:00 didn’t show. They didn’t. And then I stood around for another 20 minutes until I was called in at 12:20. My appointment was finished by 12:40 (a 20-minute appointment that could have started at 11:40, go figure!). Very sub-par experience for an appointment where I’m trying to give them a $5000 handbag to sell. Needless to say, I did not proceed with consigning my merchandise with them.

I brought in a bag of items (mostly luxury clothing items), three items of which were accepted, to consign and pointed out their offer of “$100 to shop in store the same day you consign or sell at least one accepted item at an expert appointment at a TRR store.” When I pointed this offer out, the store associate (I forget her name, she’s an Asian woman) deferred to the SECOND part of the offer, which said you get an additional $100 for consigning 10+ items by 9/30. Basically she complained negated the first part of the in-store credit offer by only referring to the second part of it. Why even post this offer if your store associates use a roundabout method to negate it? Waste of my time. They also don’t answer the phone, and calling the main TRR phone number gets you to an associate who then transfers you to a line that puts you on hold and hangs up on you. I won’t be consigning with them ever again.

One of the worse places to deal with. A Hermes blanket that was given to me by my grandmother was stolen or what they’d like to say is “lost” by this terrible company. If you have an item you’re selling, don’t go here or waste your time with these people. It’s been a email battle since March trying to figure out the whereabouts of my item to avail. The customer service is lousy and move as if they’re robots. I requested a supervisor on several occasions and was redirected to email. Now I will have to waste my time to go in person. I would give 0 stars if it was a possibility. Hey, if it were up to me I’d shut the whole place down.

Awful, I am a longtime buyer, have spent thousands in therealreal, but I buy 99% online. I have recently decided to sell off a lot of items, I sold 3-4 times already and just this sunday I went with 40 ITEMS! YES 40! Chanel tote bag, gucci bags and skirt and other luxury items to middle luxury. So these people are making a lot of money out of me as a buyer and seller. I get Asia as the helper, she starts by telling me false information which I tell is not true as someone who has bought and sold many times in therealreal. Since then her attitude gets all nasty, she forgot to add a cult Gaia tote so I asked her if we can review her list together because I want to make sure everything is accurate. She shoves the computer on my face which almost hit me. On top, she then forgets another item, misclassifies 3 other items I have and made doubles off two items. Just a huge mess, I spent almost an hour just there fixing the list, recounting items and such, not until someone else (im guessing the manager) took over was I able to sell smoothly. JUST...

I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences consigning with The RealReal in Brooklyn! The team here is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and always goes above and beyond to make the process seamless. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and valued. The staff took the time to carefully evaluate my items, explaining the process in detail and answering all my questions with patience and expertise.

Their insights on current market trends and pricing helped me maximize my returns, and their attention to detail gave me complete confidence in consigning my pieces. I truly appreciate their transparent and efficient communication throughout every step of the process.

If you're looking to consign luxury items, this is the place to go. The team is not only helpful but genuinely passionate about what they do. I’m already planning my next drop-off! Thank you, The RealReal Brooklyn, for making consigning such a...
