āZhengyuanyuanā is a well-known foot massage brand in China, famous for being affordable and professional. In my hometown, you can find a āZhengyuanyuanā every few blocksāitās that popular.
I was so surprised (and excited) to find theyāve opened a location here in New York. And the quality? Still top-tier. No store in Chinatown or Flushing even comes close.
Most non-Chinese customers come here just for a regular massageāwhich is fine, but honestly, thatās just level A. The real magic is in the xiujiao (äæ®č)āa traditional Chinese foot care technique where the master uses a blade to skillfully remove dead skin. This isnāt something you learn overnight. It takes over 2,000 hours of practice to reach this level of precision and safety. Scrubbing with a pumice stone? Thatās childās play in comparison. A proper xiujiao will leave your feet soft and baby-pinkāØāthe hallmark of a true beautyās heel, especially with summer around the corner.
In China, we do this every month. And here in NYC, this is the only place Iāve found that offers this level of authentic foot care. This is not just massageāitās real foot-care kung fu.
Pro tip: Come before the wider Chinese community discovers this gem. Right now, only some Cobble Hill locals seem to know about it because it just opened. Once word gets out, this place will be packed.
Highly recommend āBig Eye Master.ā He doesnāt speak a word of Englishābut he knows exactly what heās doing. I even gave him a bonus tip for being so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here for the first time since I've always passed by! I saw the $30 Mon-Thurs before 3pm deal and thought I would give it a shot and compare to my usual spots since the reviews were good.
The service was good and definitely did the job, but it wasn't necessarily special (which I'm not expecting at this price point!). Unfortunately the foot bath they gave me still had a bit of residue from the previous bath, which the masseuse rinsed off. They cover the bath with a plastic for each new wash, but it was still a bit off-putting. There are definitely other places in Chinatown and a little deeper into Brooklyn that are cleaner and have better service around the same price point.
I gave a 25% tip based on the weekday pricing and was asked to give closer to 35% by the receptionist. The receptionist suggested that I should be tipping based on the standard pricing, not based off the deal price. They asked nicely and I know times are tough, but I thought the policy was a bit strange and felt a bit pressured as a first time customer. :( Usually I only give 30%+ if it was truly exceptional service, which I don't feel is what I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited ZHENGYUANYUAN on Court Street, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. This spa just opened a few months ago, and itās already exceptional. The receptionist was warm and welcoming, setting the tone for a relaxing visit. The entire staff was friendly, and my massage therapist, Daniel, was truly phenomenal.
I chose the foot and back massage, and it felt like a full-body experience! Daniel checked in regularly to make sure the pressure was just right. Heās very attentive, so if you prefer a softer or more intense massage, he adjusts accordingly. Personally, I love a deeper, more rigorous massage, and he delivered perfectly. He worked from my cranium all the way down to my toes, leaving me feeling completely renewed.
The experience is worth every penny, and I believe in tipping generously for wellness services like these. They also offer memberships, which Iād recommend if you have chronic pain or want regular relief. For a quick tune-up, you can just drop in, relax, and...
