Almost 4 years ago, I experienced a terrible loss that caused me trauma. Safe Horizon referred my case to AAFSC. My therapist was great at that time until her/they program decided to switch to insurance. We had different points of views in politics, but it was never an issue. I have PTSD and I can become forgetful. I missed a few sessions. My therapist and the program understood. However, I was recently dropped from receiving therapy because the program did not want to be funded through grants anymore and they prefer to bill your insurance. I am a single mom barely receiving child support. My friend took his life, and my dad was dying when my therapist from this organization decided to drop me. This place is disgusting. They left me high and dry. I got a text from her with places where I can find my own support. On my last session, I was asked to provide my insurance card. I am not in a position to financially pay $60 a week. When my job isn't paying on time and I don't make much. My last evaluation was terrible. I was barely sleeping due to having to go to the hospital and spend hours including overnights with my dying father and then go home to work remote and take care of my daughter. The mental anguish. This office is a joke. Their director Hamza will laugh at you when you try asking for help and make you feel like a criminal when trying to explain your situation. Don't waste your time here because they certainly will only help some people and the rest of us are...
