Wow. Just amazed at how much of a let down dinner was at this establishment. I ordered the Steak Au Poivre, medium well....and it came out cold and close to rare. First time in over a decade I've had to send something back to the kitchen. A companion ordered the Steak Frites, and she barely ate 20% of the tough steak before throwing in the towel. A second companion went with the mussels, and they were solidly unspectacular. French fries and potato sides were serviceable, but pretty sparse. The service was decent-the hostess was apologetic about the steak that had to be sent back, but failed to notice that only 2-3 bites had been consumed of the steak frites. Lastly, the atmosphere was not pleasant at all. The vibes of the restaurant were all wrong. With patrons supplying their own wine and alcohol, there was a ton of excessively loud drunk tables full of bros that were going to 100+ decibels when describing their "ball sacks" in the poorly lit room, making it nearly impossible to carry a conversation without yelling. Definitely will not be going back. After reading another review, I've got to edit to mention that my first chair was the wobbliest piece of crap I've sat in at a restaurant. I immediately had to switch it out for another chair at my table Adding a picture of the 'medium' steak that was taken home in a doggy bag. It was too dark to get a good photo in the restaurant, but you can see here just how undercooked it was. It was so tough, even the dog struggled to get it chewed up. Not sure how a steak house could fail so badly on both steaks served to a table, but for $50 a plate....I expect much better.

Everything about this restaurant was curated to perfection. The food, the atmosphere and the service were all outstanding. While the entrecôte I ordered was one of the best I've had in the city, even the homemade butter spread that accompanied the bread was enough for me to keep thinking about days later. Do not skip the onion soup. The service was not only attentive but also very thoughtful about recommendations and menu pairings. Already looking forward to returning!

Cozy French bistro. Had been curious and tried it for brunch. My husband had two fried eggs over a generous bed of short ribs hash, and I had scrambled eggs with Spanish chorizo and Manchego cheese, both out of the ordinary, both delicious. They came with home fries (which were tiny baked potatoes sprinkled with chorizo) and a baguette with butter. The coffee was very good also, strong as we like it. Service was attentive. We will return soon.

We came to New York to visit family. We were staying in upstate but scheduled one day to venture into the city and have a reunion with old friends. Les Vagabonds was the perfect location! Delicious food and warm atmosphere. The vibe was classic Parisian Café; relaxed welcoming yet chic. The staff was friendly and happy to see our group overjoyed from members of our party reuniting after many years. We even had a couple members of our party that could only stay for a glass of wine because of kids, work, etc. and the staff was understanding and accommodating. The food was delicious! I was blown away by their steak tartaretartar, and impressed when the waiter informed me that they used filet mignon to prepare it. We also shared the Salade D Endives and the Mussels & Frites, both very fresh! For my main course I went with the Steak au Poivre. Incredible cut of meat, perfectly cooked and matched with a great cognac sauce that I mopped up with the delicious French baguette. Our party was thrilled! We are the kind of people that when we get together after long periods, it’s like we never missed a beat, and to find this gem of a restaurant that was so warm and welcoming and served up a meal to be remembered was all we could ask. Les Vagabonds we will be back! Whether it’s just my wife and I, or if it’s time to bring the gang back together, You’ve quickly become our go to favorite. We greatly appreciate how accommodating you were to our group. À...

Les Vagabonds is truly a French gem in the heart of Sutton Place! From the moment you walk in, the warm atmosphere and charming décor make you feel like you’ve been transported straight to Paris. The food is absolutely fabulous — authentic, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. We had the lamb shank and the special omelette, both cooked to perfection.

The owner is the sweetest and most passionate person — you can feel her love for French cuisine in every detail. To make our anniversary extra special, they even surprised us with complimentary dessert and drinks, which was such a thoughtful touch.

This place is easily the best French restaurant in NYC. A must-visit for anyone who loves great food, wonderful service, and a cozy, authentic...
