Literally sitting in this place as I type. While the restaurant is clean the prices are ridiculous 3.50 for a mini slice is just unacceptable and as a born and raised New Yorker is just offensive. For the price I have had dollar pizza that’s bigger and better than this sad excuse of a slice that I paid almost 4$ for. You’d think the slice would be larger or hearty but it’s a basic plain small slice. The owners are definitely taking advantage of the wealthier area and it’s residents who wouldn’t question the price. Little do they know they can walk down the street or literally get on Grubhub and order something cheaper. In most neighborhoods a pie is 15$ here 2 slices come out to be 7.50…that’s insane. And while the local residents might be wealthy there are a lot of stores and a strong work force who on their breaks have to pay for an overpriced pizza that isn’t even that good. Joes pizza is world famous and delicious and even they don’t charge 3.50 in wealthy areas like Williamsburg. It’s truly shameful and the owner should feel ashamed of themselves if you’re gonna charge me that the slice better be good and at least semi large. Truly a very brown stain on New York City culture and slap in the face to long time New Yorkers who have seen pizza climb from 2$ to 2.50 and for them to charge this is offensive. I really wanted my money back the pizza wasn’t good at all. I do not recommend that his place and if you’re looking for something quick take a little extra time to find something close there’s two pizza shops on that same area that charge actual New York City pizza prices. The fact that they had the audacity to name it “made in New York “ is so gross...
Read morePrices here are way too high, even compared to other great pizza places; but they do make excellent NY-style pizza. The crust in particular is top-notch. This was my first visit. I tried one of the slices they had ready-made: pepperoni and sausage. It had a quite small amount of each topping scattered on the slice, yet the final price (over $6) indicated that they charged extra for the "second" topping. But the combined amount of both pepperoni & sausage was actually less topping than I would have received on a single-topping slice. So the extra topping fee was particularly exorbitant for this slice. Pictures from other reviewers show much more generous toppings on slices from this place. I might have a different impression if they served me one of those. Perhaps my slice was just unusually skimpy.
The crust was excellent by NY pizza standards. Thin, with just the perfect amount of crispness and foldability. The pepperoni and sausage toppings were also excellent. The sauce and cheese were pretty good, but not remarkable. The prices for even the single-topping slices (and full pies) are much too aggressive, especially considering that this place is basically a standard pizza parlor, with paper plates, thin napkins in dispensers, no table service and no decoration. While the pizza here is excellent, given the skimpy toppings and high price, in the future I will go to one of the more reasonably priced pizza places...
Read moreI was excited to see that this casual pizza place had a gluten free, vegan pizza listed on their website. Unfortunately, they do not actually serve either vegan and/or gluten free pizza. When I tried to order, I was told that they have never had any of these options and the serving staff seemed very annoyed that I was even asking, even though the gluten free option is also listed on the menu in the actual restaurant.
My daughter is allergic to dairy and I had planned on her being able to eat here with her friends based on the information on the website and on the board when we arrived, and when it was made clear to me that she would not be able to eat here, I had to scramble to find her another option at a different restaurant.
I can understand not having allergy friendly options, but it is false advertising to list them and not follow through.
Note: This place is fine if you do not have a dairy or...
