Looking for a job? Well, look elsewhere unless you want to join the circus at Maggie's Pub!
Let me introduce you to Maggie, the one and only ringmaster of this profit-driven extravaganza. Maggie's motto? "If you can't make me money, you ain't worth my time."
So, picture this: I stroll into Maggie's Pub, desperate for any job to keep my head above water. After begging for a chance, Maggie graciously allows me a one-day trial – without pay or even a measly snack. Thanks, Maggie!
Now, instead of a warm welcome or a brief orientation, I get to be schooled by the bartender, who's been stuck here for five years. Meanwhile, Maggie? She's got a front-row seat at the bar, staring into the abyss like it's the next big thing. Priorities, right?
By the end of my unpaid internship – I mean trial – Maggie swoops in with her expert analysis: I'm "slow," and apparently, my mere presence is scaring away her precious clientele. Oh, the horror!
But hey, don't worry. This was all before Covid, back when losing customers to the pub next door was the real crisis of the day.
So, if you're in the market for a job and enjoy being blamed for Maggie's business woes, step right up to Maggie's Pub – the circus awaits!
Cheers to Maggie's Pub: where the only thing flowing faster than the beer is Maggie's...
Read moreI have this habit of walking into the first pub, diner or restaurant that is closest to me when I get hungry and I am out exploring. That's what happened yesterday and the closest place was Maggie Reilly's. I got hungry and literally looked up and there it was. I'm so glad i stopped here! It was not crowded at all (but did start to fill up after I arrived). I sat at the end of the bar and ordered a diet coke and Maggie's House Burger (burger stuffed with finely chopped onion topped w/ cheese and bacon). The burger was HUGE and delicious, as was the bacon on top. You don't always get a good burger when you are picking random restaurants in the city... but this burger was GREAT. The steak fries were great, too (my favorite!). The bartender was very friendly (love that Irish accent) and he refilled my drink each time it got low. Great place, great food. So glad I stopped here while exploring the city. Prices were very reasonable too. The same exact meal in my town in Jersey would have been more...

I know wait staff have a tough job sometimes but our server knew nothing about the menu. Had to come back to ask how we wanted eggs done. Both orders wrong on that count. My wife’s dish was supposed to have beans as main filler with egg. No bean content at all. We should have returned food but did not. salad was so wilted could not eat. When asked how breakfast was no attempt made to make up for problems. I helped neighbouring table with beer order as waitress could not seemingly adapt to tourists with limited English. Beer was good. You think this of all days they would be...
