Matto Espresso — Restaurant in New York

I want to specify that this review pertains a specific location - 1144 Lexington Ave. I have to start that banana date latte is probably one of the best smoothies I’ve ever had. It is my weekly treat and I’ve never had a bad one. Until, I brought guests with me to 1144 Lex location and I was bragging all the way that they are in for a treat. We ordered a first cup and everyone tried and agreed that it tastes like watery banana something. No taste of coffee or date. No tiny crushed ice. Even the color of the drink was “dirty”. We ordered another and asked for a double espresso shot - same. Horrible. I’ve this drink before. I knew how it should taste and look. The barista made us banana milk watery something. I asked if she did not get confused and forgot to add date. May be she forgot to add fresh espresso shot. She claimed she did everything according to the recipe. I am sorry, both drinks (20oz) each went straight to garbage. We tried to like it and justify but it was not possible. Barista was more busy with the delivery tablet than asking us why we are not happy with this drink. Never again I will shop at this location.

I am not sure if I would order again and certainly none of my friends would it give this place another chance. Please, make sure that all baristas know how to make the smoothie. It’s wonderful and it should remain on the menu but this location is off...

NATIA Is my go 2 person every tuesday and fridax morning since I discovered your stores tasty goods I wait my turn when I come mot because of inatendiveness but I require help when ordering deom my phone. As a senior citizen of 74 I have fallen to two problems my vision even with glasses is scketchy and I am currently waiting to be checked for memory löss by a mental health doctor bad gotten covid during the early time of the epedemic. I explained my limitarions to Natia early on and she has come to my rescue everytime I got löst trying to place my order. She is a great mulitasker and all her customers leave with a smile as there is never a long wait. In a nut shell if I had a business I would hire her with no reservarions because of my experiences and her great consideration she has for the needs of all...

My favorite coffee stop in nyc! The food and coffee is high-quality and delicious yet still extremely affordable (most pastries and coffee are 2.50 through the app, 3.50 in person). You still get a ton of menu options and customization too! Loving the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake and I appreciate all the available add-ons like oat milk and such. Vegan-friendly, gluten-free-friendly… some sustainable packaging and coffee accessories too (thank you Matto for caring about the environment). Love the attention to detail, like getting a free little cookie with your hot latte. Excellent service at this location as well— amazingly friendly and warm staff. Can’t say enough...
