Good food, horrible owners. I will not be returning after discovering the inhumane and abusive treatment of customers and staff, which I witnessed myself.
This happened today as I was picking up a Too Good To Go order.
Arrived this morning to a (who I now know as Marni, the owners wife) woman and a kid behind the counter. When my partner and I first walked in, the woman seemed really stressed out. I showed her the pickup order, and she asked me to wait a few minutes. Not a problem, and stepped off to the side to let other customers in. During this time, the woman kept making remarks to the kid like he wasn’t paying attention, wasn’t helping her, ect. Pretty awkward, to be amidst a family argument, but again, fine. Another lady walks in who is obviously picking up a TGTG order and stands next to me. Woman behind the counter looks at us and says “I know I know just give me a few more minutes”. She then proceeds to try and call someone, and when the call doesn’t go through she starts talking to herself about how her husband is supposed to handle this. Third woman comes in for a TGTG order, as well as a man (Michael the owner). Woman behind the counter takes the kid and as she’s walking out, the man asks her if she’s helped us yet and she blatantly says “No, they’re all here for their stupid garbage bags. You deal with it.”
I have absolutely no idea where this all came from. I’ve never had an experience like this at a business.
I ended up posting my experience to the TGTG Facebook group, and received dozens of comments relating to my experience. A few shared their experience as young, teenage staff who were berated and mistreated on a daily basis. Others were customers who witnessed the owners fighting, and some even watched as the owner berated his young staff members for simple things.
This has apparently been going on for years, with the owners knowledge. I can conclude that they simply just don’t care.
I can’t and will never support a business who treats human...

I want to start by saying that I absolutely love the pastries at Wholy Cream. Every donut I’ve tried has been fresh, soft, buttery-rich, light, and fluffy. The cream they use is simple but delicious—never artificial or overly processed. It ranges from gooey-soft to perfectly drippy and sweet, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into making the pastries.
However, despite how much I love the food, I can no longer support this business.
On two separate occasions, I witnessed an older gentleman—who seems to be in a position of authority—speak with completely unacceptable hostility and disrespect to others. The first time, he berated a delivery worker, speaking to him in a demeaning and degrading tone when the man was simply trying to confirm an order. The second time, I saw him publicly scold and humiliate a young female staff member for not wearing gloves while scooping ice cream. She repeatedly apologized and remained composed, but he continued to belittle her in front of the customers. Then, to make matters worse, he scooped the ice cream himself—without gloves—right after criticizing her for the same thing.
These incidents were not isolated, either. Friends and other community members have shared similar stories, stating that this same man is routinely verbally abusive to employees.
It’s heartbreaking to say this, because the food here truly is excellent, but no product is worth supporting an environment where people are treated with such cruelty. Until the management addresses this behavior, I won’t be returning. I’ll be encouraging others to take their...
Read morePlace has promise, but based on my experience and the other reviews it has a ways to go before it's worth visiting.
Staff I spoke with were super nice, but clearly untrained. They didn't even know how to turn on the AC, so the place was boiling, and couldn't answer basic questions about the donuts. This type of gap is always management's fault for training or hiring incorrectly.
This lack of management ability was likely reflected in the donuts. The donuts themselves were extremely poor: Plain, flavorless donuts best described as squishy, textureless mush that were worse than grocery store quality. The toppings were fine, but boring: whatever toppings you can get at a froyo place put on top of plain icing.
I took a few bites and threw the donut away. $2 coffee was the highlight.
UES badly needs a donut place, but the way this is going, it's going to close before the autumn. Based on other reviews, it seems like ownership needs to bring in professional management to...
