We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay - the bread was really soft and fresh.
My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake and I got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn't happy with my omelette because the spicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within.
For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn't tea based but rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk.
In terms of our overall experience we felt by the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money to pay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we still added the tip to our credit card - 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business next door overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill - he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that the money wasn't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just "well, it felt that way", shrug.
It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start to finish, hence the 2...
Read moreI ordered a Mediterranean Salad just an hour ago. First of all, i have a customer of this restaurant since they open for business in Lex. I even know the owner whom I consider a friend. Every time, I come to eat i always order Mediterranean salad and nothing else because it is really good and delicious, the felafel is fesh, and presentation is really mouth watering. BUT, this afternoon that is not the salad i am expecting. Moreso, i have waited for half an hour for my order. The attendant came to me the reason it was late because they are COOKING FRESH FELAFEL. And when my order came thw felafel is cold like it came out from FREEZER, the plating is beyond my expectation. but i did finish some of the salad. Unfortunately, i did not bring my phone with me so i could take a picture of the bottom of the romaine which is included in my salad. I showed it yo the attendant and ask him if he can it eat!!! He should it to the cook and apologize😡. So disappointed because the restaurant i used to love is now going to the drain. I will never be surprised if one day they will close. This post is not to discredit the restaurant but I want the management to the people who works with you is not being careful...
Read moreI recently dined at Bread and Wine, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that felt both cozy and elegant.
The menu is a delightful blend of creative dishes and classic favorites. I started with the artisanal bread basket, which was fresh and perfectly paired with a selection of house-made spreads. For the main course, I had the roasted duck, which was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
The wine selection is impressive, featuring a variety of local and international options that cater to all tastes. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helped me choose the perfect pairing for my meal.
To top it all off, I couldn’t resist trying the chocolate torte for dessert, and it was pure bliss—rich, indulgent, and a perfect end to the meal.
Overall, Bread and Wine offers an exceptional dining experience with outstanding food, attentive service, and a lovely ambiance. I can’t wait to return and try more...
