First of all let me start off with saying that Iām a former server and a current bartender so Iām leaving this review understanding what this job entails. I sat down with a party of 4 women some time last week when it was super slow for happy hour . The waitress we had never gave us her name, and honestly came off super standoffish and passive aggressive, clearly she didnāt want to be serving us. They charged us for our first and only round of chips and salsa even though we are supposed to get it complementary of our dining experience as per the menu. To the drinks, margs were good, frozen drinks were watered down. The quesadilla was sub par, as a Latina woman it was very insulting. However, we were willing to look past it all and politely asked for the check. When we received the check we noticed that an automatic 25% gratuity was added to the bill, which the waitress didnāt tell us about before hand. Iām not a cheap person, and wouldāve tipped 20% despite our complaints, however 25% was a bit excessive considering the service we experienced. Being a waitress I would never add automatic gratuity at that percent without first notifying the customers, especially for a table for 4 people⦠and upon dropping the check the gratuity percentage was not mentioned and we almost double tipped until we realized something was off. When we asked the waitress if there was a mistake and she nervously explained that 25% gratuity is added on to everyoneās check regardless if it was paid card or cash ⦠idk if this is true or if it was a slow day and they were just trying to make money, but I found it super inconsiderate for the quality of food and service, and just needed to put this out there in case anyone was thinking about going, just know what to expect. Side note the bartender was very sweet and so was the male server who...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went there for my birthday with my significant other and we did not have a great experience. I decided to go there because they had a burrito if flavored margaritas and I wanted to try as many as I could! We started ordering a passion fruit one and a half pitcher of sangria. Our drinks were so strong we couldn't even finish them. When the waitress took our drinks order we said we needed a little time to order food. By the time she brought the drinks we were ready to order but she dropped off the drinks and walked away. It took a while hour of me trying to get her attention until a different waitress noticed me and came to get our order. Another couple sat next to our table after we had been seated and they had already gotten their drinks and we're finishing the food and we still hadn't ordered. By the time our food arrived we were so hungry and so drunk off those cocktails that we honestly don't know if the food was that good. We ate it all and I think it was nice but my partner thought their steak was very dry. We were really so hungry we even ordered chips and salsa after the meal because the portions also weren't big enough. The second waitress was the one who came to check on us and see if we needed anything else and brought us the check. She was clearly not the waitress designated to our section but we never saw our waitress again. She waited everyone else around us and completely forgot about us. I was so excited to go there for my birthday and I'm sad to say I'll never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne of the nicer Friday evenings so far this summer. We have lived in he city for almost 10 years and for this place has been a Park Slope stable for years. They were not anywhere near full. We waited a good 20 minutes to have someone take our drink and dinner orders. This was only after we asked THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE. I was in the mood for a nice margarita. Ordered the margarita and tried to order a water at the same time. Was told I had to ask someone else for water...wha? When the margarita got here - Literally pure lime juice with absolutely zero tequila. YUCK. I really wanted a water. I waited and waited and finally was able to waive someone down to ask for water. Sure, they say...and then no water...for 10 more minutes. I eventually had to walk up to the bar and order one. Ordered enchilladas. Asked for chicken and cheese. Assured it came with cheese. No cheese...just dry as chicken and rice and beans the consistency of baby vomit. No one came to ask how our food was. No water, no one for drink refills or orders. In fact, the only time we saw our waitress was when she took our drink (but no water) and food...
