Drinks and atmosphere were great. While here, I went downstairs to the basement to use the bathroom, and on my way up the stairs bumped my head hard on the support beam parallel to the stairs. The ceiling is already low and the beam poses a real danger to those going up the stairs. The bartender down there was sweet and got me some ice to put on my head, but it's crazy to me that such a big hazard remains there. I ended up having to go to the ER because I began showing symptoms of a concussion later in the night, which was confirmed at the ER! One of the workers who saw me holding the ice on my head immediately knew what had happened told me verbatim "it happens 5 times a day" and that he's also hit his head on the beam and has voiced frustration to mgmt, who'd done nothing about it. It's really upsetting to know that that's the attitude towards something that poses such a serious and consequential threat to customers...
Read moreI had a chance to meet someone for drinks for the first time at Midnights during the week. We decided to go on a Wednesday around 8:30 PM. When we walked in there weren't that many people sitting inside but the entire backyard space was completely full! Given this was summer that was totally understandable. I'd say if you want to snag a set of seats in the back come a little earlier in the evening. The inside has a standard bar and booths throughout the space. They has a good selection of specialty cocktails and also were able to make a lot of other typical drinks on request as well. As it got later in the night the bar became more crowded and by the time we left it felt like it was a weekend night! This is definitely a good date spot given the dim lighting and music selection. It's conveniently located on Bedford Avenue and close to the L train...
Read moreI arrived to the newly opened Midnights Restaurant for Saturday brunch for three people and we were seated immediately as there were not a lot of patrons.
I ordered the Hemingway Cocktail which consisted of Flor de Caña rum, lime. marischano, and grapefruit. It was pretty delicious.
For my appetizer, I ordered the Farmers Market Salad Seasonal Greens which was comprised of fruits, herbs, and flowers and it was probably the best summer salad I have ever eaten.
For my main, I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich, which was made up of duck egg, duck confit, cumin aioli, and emmentaler cheese. The sandwich was decent but not memorable.
The staff was very friendly and they were very accessible. The decor of the inside of the restaurant was classic chic and the one thing I really loved is that they have a beautiful outdoor...
