Mister Burrito Loco — Restaurant in New York

Despite the somewhat silly name, this is a great restaurant. We have been customers since their first day in business, when they were called Mi Nuevo Rancho. Every dish is at least tasty, but, in my experience, Mr. Burrito makes some of the best Mole Poblano in the world.

For 25 years I traveled around the world for work, and whenever I found a good Mexican restaurant I would try the mole, because that is my favorite Mexican dish. I didn't even have it so good in Mexico. True, it is different with each cook, and the mole at Mr. Burrito varies from semi-sweet to semi-hot, but it never disappoints.

The people working there are very pleasant and the service is always good. I cannot recommend a place more highly.

I was charged nearly double the amount of my order. When I asked why I was charged $57 instead of $37, the lady insisted that the “5” was actually a “3”—despite the suggested tip being over $60, which clearly reflected the higher total. She seemed to avoid the issue at first, appearing busy in hopes I wouldn’t notice. Eventually, she took both receipts, gave a brief “sorry,” and handed me back $20 in cash. Initially I would have thought it was an accident but the way she seemed really annoyed and suspicious when I caught it made me believe it wasn’t an accident.
