Gotta tell you Enrico, the owner made me a customer for life. We are two ladies in our 70's ...don't let that make you think it's an OLD crowd. We are part of the artistic community of singer, actors and my friend who used to dance. So we ain't conventional. The food was great, the service incredible but was totally revealing was the guy handling guests as they came in, an octopus doing 8 things at once, greeted TWO OLD LADIES, both of us with walkers, handled us with grace and charm. I wondered if in another time/life he was a Greek prince. So, not only did we block his doorway with TWO walkers, we had a reservation but he was placing us at a table near the door and I am very affected by the cold. I told him this and without blinking and still doing his octopus duties, he asked IF we could wait for a couple of minutes. I wondered if he was part magician cause the place was PACKED - or maybe he used his magic from when he was a prince in ancient Grrece. I need to as him what ti's mistletoe means. So, not only gets us a table in a corner, which makes my bear tendencies for a cozy den come out but now get this, he saw me wobble without my walker and he puts out his arm in offering to help me. Another indication of royalty masking as a commoner. AND I was RIGHT! I wanted to tip the guy for his dreamlike customer centric service by a tip. Our incredible waitress said that's the owner. SHock!! Poor waitress she said he's the owner. I asked is it forbidden. She graciously smiled. See, it's important to me to recognize, in a very small way, a working man, especially when he works not as a figure head, but is working like a dog. I figured the prince in disguise Enrico would know/ understand that importance. So great meal, FABILOUS SERVICE! Access a ride comes, so I need to rush out get to the car and can't find my phone and I thought I left it on the table. My server, everyone us give the all out ALARM. Nothing. The prince calmly calls my Phone. Nothing. I say goodnight, but before I go, can this really be an offshoot of ancient Greec3? A humble waiter with glasses says this was by where you were seated. You must have dropped it. I am careless with money, it sits in clumps in my bag. It was a hundred dollar bill. I carry them at times, when I know I'm going to a fancy restaurant. I had to rush to the car as they only wait for a couple of minutes. But I wondered and some part of me knows, it was the prince thanking me. I think the spirit of not only Greece, but ancient Greece is alive and well on west 43rd street, in Manhattan Plaza. I already have made a reservation for two, both of us with walkers and we know they - the wLjer s, will not be seen. Just us. Thank you Prince Enrico and those in your kingdom. Emblems of HONOR and SERVICE, should...
Read moreOur brunch reservation was set for 11:30 on a Saturday which is when the restaurant opens. The weather was horrible, but they have what appears to be a nice outdoor patio to enjoy when the weather is good.
The restaurant is very bright and inviting. The wine walls and plates on the wall create a cozy, classy space. It’s also quite spacious compared to many restaurants in the city.
We started with mimosas, I ordered the regular bottomless and my companion had the blood orange. During brunch, the server routinely brought more mimosas for me. I appreciated not having to ask or wait as sometimes is the case, especially with a bottomless offering.
I started with the avegolemeno soup. It was a bit heavy on the lemon side and lacked a bit of substance. There was a bit of chicken in it, but largely was broth more than anything. My companion had tuna tartare which was plated beautifully and she really enjoyed. This was served along with fresh pita that was still warm from the oven. It was delicious and being it was fresh helped round out the meal.
For our main courses, I chose the lamb sliders and ordered two poached eggs on the side. It wasn’t on the menu but they happily accommodated. The lamb was rich and tender and topped with a light bit of garnish. I asked for the yogurt dressing on the side and it also came with fries that were house cut and lightly salted. This plate was very tasty and I would definitely recommend. It was a bit hard to eat with your hands so I mostly ate the meat given I had a lot of pita already. My companion had the omelette. The omelette came on a bed of greens and a block of feta. It looked perfectly cooked and was tender and fluffy as it was tasty.
For dessert, we had the Molyvos Sundae. This was a bit of a trick to eat as it came in a phyllo dough bowl with ice cream in the middle, whipped cream and a halva topping (tastes like cotton candy) all drizzled with honey. It was essentially the flavors of baklava in a sundae and I would absolutely suggest you save room for it.

The selection of Greek wines is very nice and I thoroughly enjoyed the featured white wine I ordered based on a suggestion from our waitress. She seemed knowledgeable of the wines and made the suggestion after asking what I liked in a white. She was spot on in her suggestion.
We tried the eggplant spread as an appetizer with the pita bread and olive oil that every table receives. And added some veggies for dipping. The spread was really good and the veggies were so fresh and crunchy! Just perfect.
I ordered the striped sea bass and my friend ordered the salmon. He really enjoyed the salmon except for burning his finger on the metal bowl/plate it was in, after he was warned to be carful when it arrived at the table. Luckily it was minor but beware. My sea bass was “meh”. I wouldn’t order it again and probably should have gone with the lamb. It wasn’t that hot when it arrived and didn’t really taste like much. I ended up putting some of the leftover eggplant spread on it. To give it some flavor.
My friend had the almond cake for dessert and found it to be just the right amount for a sweet treat after dinner.
If you are coming here before a show, as many of the diners were when we were there, note that there are only two single toilets so it took 15 minutes for both of us to get through the line and use the restroom before we left. We hadn’t factored that in when planning the timing to get to the theater. We made it just fine but had to walk much quicker...
