5 Stars – A Hidden Gem in Brooklyn!

Montemug is an absolute gem of a coffee shop tucked into a beautiful little corner of Brooklyn. I stopped by for a latte and a pistachio-flavored croissant—and wow. Both were phenomenal. The latte was perfectly balanced and smooth, and the croissant had just the right amount of sweetness with that rich pistachio flavor. Truly one of the best I’ve had.

The service is also exceptional—friendly, warm, and efficient. I’m lucky enough to personally know the owners, Annie and Evan, both locals who are deeply committed to the community. Evan has been my barber and friend for over 5 years through Monteman Barber, and I couldn’t be more excited to see this next chapter with Montemug take off.

Bonus points: they’ve got vegan options too—for all my plant-based Brooklyn folks out there, you’re covered.

Honestly had such an unpleasant experience. The coffe is good but the service is zero on 10. I was really shocked. I stepped up and asked to order a small cup of milk for my two year old ( where in any coffe shop I’ve been to it would be charged as a side of milk so something like $1.50- $2.00 max and mostly they just give it to me because it’s for a child) they wanted to charge me a latte $6 I’m like for a small cup of milk? I then said I’d like an espresso on ice with a bit of milk. They poured the cup of milk for my daughter with no ice ( when I asked for ice) handed me the ice espresso so then I asked if I can have some milk because I already handed my daughter her cup, they turned to me and said do you want an ice cortado instead? I’m like you’re joking right? So I had to pour a splash of milk from my daughter cup because they refused to give me milk without charging me some rediculous price for a drink that doesn’t exist.
