The Meat Hook — Local services in New York

1st time going in there today and the service was horrible ! I waited like 15 minutes to get help and there was other people waiting to god knows how long . They are very over priced for there meat . God I'd never go there again I got bills to pay . My mommy and daddy don't give me $ I gotta work .. get this though after I left I forgot to get a pound of white cheese as I was waiting for the bus I noticed another butcher shop so I was like I'll just go here and try it out . I went in and there was 2 older gentleman and they were the nicest guys . I ordered the cheese and he said that will be all I said yes sir . He rings it up $4 ! I go I ordered a pound , and he goes I know I put it and he giggled a bit I said really $4 that's it he said yes so I gave him the $4 and I explained that the people across the street are legit quadruple a pound and he just stayed quite didn't wanna say anything wrong about them that's how much respect they have for everyone . I'm gonna be going there definitely from now on 110 % . Also he gave me a slice of cheese and it was actually really great quality cheese . Very good taste and cheap . I can't wait to try the meats next time I go . I'll definitely update this comment box how meat quality is ... hey everyone so I went back a couple weeks later and totally forgot to edit my review on the meat ! Dude it is awesome !!! 1lb of turkey , 1lb of cheese, 1lb of prosciutto all of just $17...

BE CAREFUL!!!! PAY ATTENTION when your at the register they tend to up charge you for things, they charged me for a pound of meat when I only got less than half pound.

Some people are nice there, but some of the employees are condescending and rude and they talk shitt about customers as soon as when they leave the store.heard them making fun of a customer when he left because he spend 10 bucks on sour cream, kinda weird because they're selling stuff at a high price but will make fun of you when you purchase...?

The overall quality of meat is decent nothing to rave about definitely appreciate the grass fed meats but they are not the only ones with that kind of quality meat!

Like I said just pay attention when the butcher is weighing out the meat also at the register they will up charge both sides. They do little weird tricks on the scale also, for example put something heavy on the scale then tear it.

I really gave them the benefit of doubt this happened over 4 times so i decided to write a review. I'm not a hater or the type to bash a place for no reason! I only want to warn people because everyone works hard for there money and there's sketch thievery going on at "THE MEAT HOOK"

Been going to this local butcher shop since they were in the back of a grocer and I have loved, even more, going to there new shop.

I love the meats, so having a great butcher shop with really solid prices is key. Meat Hook is the best.

I've been in a few dozen times and they always deliver, no matter who I'm talking too, always super knowledge and friendly!

I've really appreciated the addition of bone broth in the colder months (if you've never had it, think super rich savory soup broth deliciousness)

Last visit I got a big steak for me and my lady and was really happy with the flavor. It was a dry aged porterhouse and although I've been in a lot this maybe was the first time I've sprung for the "top shelf" meats and I must say it will have to be a more regular thing now that I've experienced it.

Favorite butcher shop hands down. If you haven't tried it yet and love the meats it's about time you step up to the counter and...
