I recently had the pleasure of visiting Daytime Cafe on Graham Ave, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment my partner and I walked in, we were greeted with warm and welcoming hospitality by the incredible staff members Jack, Lyn, and Netti. Their friendly and attentive service made us feel right at home.
Now, let's talk about the food. The breakfast plate I ordered was simply divine. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the presentation was a work of art. The combination of perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, and sourdough toast with blueberry compote, was a breakfast lover's dream come true. It was a delicious start to my day and left me feeling satisfied and content.
Another highlight of our visit was the granola yogurt bowl. It was a refreshing and healthy option that was beautifully layered with fresh fruits and crunchy granola. The combination of creamy greek yogurt, sweet fruits, and crunchy granola created a delightful balance of textures and flavors. It was a perfect choice for a light and nutritious breakfast or snack.
Now, let's talk about the old fashioned donuts. Oh my goodness, they were absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, they were only available for a limited time, which is such a shame. I would highly recommend Daytime Cafe to bring them back permanently because they were simply heavenly. The donuts were perfectly fried to a golden brown, with a soft and fluffy interior that had a wonderful buttermilk flavor. The nostalgic taste took me back in time, and I couldn't get enough of them. Please, Daytime Cafe, consider making these delightful treats a permanent part of your menu!
One aspect that my partner and I truly appreciate about Daytime Cafe is their commitment to creating a LGBTQ friendly environment. The cafe exudes an inclusive and warm atmosphere, making it a safe and lovely space for everyone. The staff and patrons alike were incredibly friendly and accepting, making our visit even more enjoyable.
We will definitely be back soon and our experience at Daytime Cafe was exceptional. The delicious breakfast plate, the tantalizing granola yogurt bowl, and the incredible hospitality from Jack, Lyn, and Netti made it a memorable visit. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. And Daytime Cafe, please consider bringing back those old fashioned donuts permanently - they are...
Read moreLiving in upper New Jersey, it was quite the commitment - an hour and a half train journey - but I was excited for a change of scenery and what promised to be a lovely coffee experience.
I arrived with everything I needed for a perfect afternoon: my current read, my journal, and an appetite for both coffee and one of their sandwiches that had caught my eye online. However, my excitement quickly turned to anxiety as I stood in line behind a gentleman who was asking about restroom access.
"No public restroom," was the response from the barista. My heart sank. Due to my medical condition, bathroom access isn't just a convenience- it's a necessity. The long journey had taken its toll, and I desperately needed facilities. I watched as the man ahead of me was directed to another coffee shop nearby to use their restroom.
In that moment, my carefully planned day crumbled. I couldn't believe that an establishment that invites customers to sit in and enjoy their food and drinks wouldn't provide such a basic necessity. I was devastated and honestly felt a bit humiliated having to leave so abruptly without even getting to experience what I had traveled so far for.
Had it not been for this critical issue, I imagine I would have had a wonderful experience at Daytime. The menu looked enticing, the atmosphere was just as charming as the photos suggested, and the staff seemed friendly enough. But none of that matters when basic needs can't be met.
There must be regulations regarding restroom access in places where customers are encouraged to dine in. This experience has made me much more cautious about planning trips to new cafés, especially ones requiring significant travel. For those with medical conditions like mine, this isn't just an inconvenience—it's exclusionary.
If Daytime wants to truly welcome all customers, they need to address this significant oversight. Until then, despite its aesthetic appeal, I unfortunately cannot recommend it to anyone, especially those with similar...
Read moreDaytime, fantastic name- first of all. It was quite that, Daytime. I went during that time of day when those like to eat savory breakfast foods and enjoy hot hot coffee. Where to begin? Chapter 1, for example(as the prologue has since been written), I walked into the shop. I enjoyed the sights to see inside and it was good smelling. While I waited to order (a very short time might I add), I noticed the people in there. Everyone was happy, smiling, joyous even. It made me yearn for a life where I too could walk to this shop Daytime, and enjoy a happiness as such (the divorce has been hard). Regardless, I, Digress. I spoke my order. Questions were asked (respectfully) and answers were given (respectfully). I waited a short time and recieved my delectable wonders. I sat on the patio outside. At a table, might I add. I began to eat. and suddenly, akin to Ego in the movie ratatouille (no animated cooking animals here though as far as i know) I understood - Joy. The food was good. I understood the daylight people and their joyous happy smiling folks who I yearned to understand as though my life had meaning(I now know it does). Everything simply makes sense here. I hope to return on my next visit back to this area (I am not from around here, rather a small farm town where I am writing my next screenplay - city living is far to expensive). I hope you, dear reader, heed my advice and instead of turning to the darkness, turn to...
