Perennials is hands down one of the best plant shops in Brooklyn! The range of plants in the store is surprisingly extensive—there's a lot to choose from, including plants you'd expect to see as well as some rare beauties. There are also adorable pots and accessories sprinkled throughout the store. Plus, you can tell Alison (the store's owner) is really thoughtful about what she carries—a lot of the pottery she showed me was imported from fair trade women's cooperatives. Best of all, the prices were amazing. You'll definitely walk away feeling like you're getting a great deal. Plus, Alison really took the time to make sure I felt confident taking care of my newly acquired plant friends. I don't know of any other local plant shops where you get a great selection, amazing prices, thoughtfully sourced goods, and a lovely owner who immediately feels like an old friend. If you're near Greenpoint or Williamsburg, you should definitely stop by this charming plant shop ASAP! Even if you're farther afield, it's totally worth the trip.

Had the best “shop small” experience at Perrenials yesterday. The owner, Alison, is full of information about the plants she carries and was extremely generous with providing thoughtful advice that made clear she was actually listening to the goals I have for the plant scape I am building in/around my home based on my aesthetic preferences, lifestyle, etc. I also have to mention that “shopping small/local” seems to usually equate to higher price points - this is the exact opposite of the case here. I was shocked by how low Alison’s prices are, and it meant that I was able to walk away with a LOT more than I had anticipated my budget would yield. One last note: Alison is so passionate about plants and this shop is clearly a labor of love. I can’t say the last time I felt so good about spending money somewhere. Def recommend if you are in the market for anything plant related, unique gifts, cards, etc.

I recently visited this shop that just opened next door to my house, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience! Although I’ve primarily stuck to indoor plants, I was intrigued by the idea of starting a small urban balcony garden. Alison, the owner, and her adorable pup were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Alison’s personable nature and extensive knowledge made my visit enjoyable and informative. She provided me with excellent tips for growing tomatoes, which is perfect for a novice like me. The shop itself is charming and well-organized, making it a delightful place to browse and learn. If you’re looking for a friendly and knowledgeable place to start or expand your plant collection, I highly recommend checking out this new plant shop. Alison and her pup will make you feel right at home, whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out like me!
